PS Vita general advice thread, part 3 | Veni, vidi, Vita

The psp slim felt like a cheap toy. It was like it was made out of 1000 different pieces loosely held together. The Vita feels incredibly solid, like one single piece. It reminded me of my iphone.

If you want to buy digital copies of Vita games and PSP games, get a 32GB. If you plan on sticking with retail Vita games, then 16 should be enough. Personally, I'm ready for the all digital future. My 32GB card is already half full.

Lumines arrived today, it feels like I just had a massive eyegasm - the colours, the shapes, the music all so trippy. :D

Not having a charge and play is a bummer.

i left my charger at home and only brought my usb cable to work, plugged it to charge it while I played monster hunter and no go.. I have to power off the device..

sigh..

I may need to pick up a second charger, was hoping to avoid that, but at least this way I wouldn't have to carry one to work every day.

Just picked up Mutant Blobs Attack and Plants vs. Zombies.

Trying to balance my time between those 2, Motorstorm RC and SSD.

I <3 leaderboards!

Can't remember the last time I played one of my retail games though, haha.

Trying to decide whether to go with hotspot on my cel or go with the AT&T plan, not sure what the pros and cons are.

Can I buy a game from the German store on my ps3 and transfer it over to my UK account Vita? It's EU, after all.

I'm asking because I want MGS1 in German on my Vita once PS1 games work on Vita. The horrible voice acting is simply part of my MGS1 experience, I wouldn't want to miss out on dat nostalgia.

I liked the shinobido 2 demo. I generally like all of Spike's output(come on, new Kenka Bancho).

How long is it? Might wait on a sale.
About 4 hours long. If you want to platinum it, you need to replay the game a minimum of 4 times IIRC.

i have no idea if it works but im glad im not the only one in this forum who totally adores the german voices! some might call them horrible... i call them glorious and fantastic haha.

I realize I'm dumb and the answer is probably no, but no one replied so I'm hoping I can get a little more attention on this page:
Soo is there a way to restore a deleted save? I wasn't really paying attention and just saved over my previous Uncharted: GA save file (too much P3P -_-) and kind of regret that decision.

EDIT: To clarify, it was a save file where I beat the game, saving over it after selecting "New Game" from the menu.

The way they're all so super serious and sound so forced. Aaaawesome.

I wanted to put my copy on my CFW PSP, but I can't find disc 2 ;_;

THe only way I can think of this being possible is if you had an older backup with that save on it. I'm not even sure if that would work but it's the only thing I can come up with, sorry.

:(

For the Content Manager to launch on the Vita, the PS3 and Vita have to be configured to use the same account. The PS3 also has to be presently logged into that account.
So your scenario wouldn't work.

Ah well. Looks like I will never platinum Uncharted. I'm not sure I can go through the trouble of finding all of those treasures again. Thanks anyways =]

Turns out any USB power adapter will work with the Vita usb cable. So if you have something like this for your cell phone:

Good God, GAF.

Thanks to you I had to buy a PSVita. :P

3G-Wi-fi for the price of the Wi-Fi only.
Uncharted
16GB card
and a PSN Card to buy MotorStorm RC.

If Sega ported Chromehounds to Vita with its epic online war and added touchscreen controls for your mech's cockpit, I think I would die from bliss.

I tried runnign mine through the mobil hotspot on my TMobil Galaxy S 4G and it ran waaay to slow...

Buy Super Stardust and Mutant Blobs too!

At the very least, buy Mutant Blobs!

I think it has a definite mass appeal that Stardust may not have. Stardust is technically the better game IMO but I don't think it resonates with everyone.

I played the full game of Bejeweled 3 on the 360 at my friend's earlier this week, and that game needs to be on the Vita right fuc*ing now. Those HD graphics and that sweet gem switching gameplay could entertain me for days. I'd pay money to play that on the go (and not on the shitty DS).

Here's a simulation.

I just want Lumines to drop in price :(

I doubt it will happen though. I feel like they won't want to set the precedent that games can come down in price quickly so people don't start just waiting (like I do on Steam).

Without changing any settings the vita shoul be able to charge and play when you are connected to an ac outlet.

It seems that the vita does actually charge whilst it's on via usb but won't charge as fast as it drains power hence the charge animation/'charge icon' won't display. The only way to check if this is right though (an estimated guess might do if the difference isn't minimal) is to faff about and time the difference from an known percentage of battery capacity and compare it without it being plugged in via usb and with it plugged in.

No. Only some ( not any ) USB chargers would let you play and charge. I keep this link handy:

I've tried my iPhone, Kindle, Generic USB power bricks and none of them work. Not even when the Vita is off. The above mod will let you use any USB wall charger as well as those portable ones.

I´m from Denmark.. but that would not be bad price wise (ok it´s more expensive than the rest of Europe).. but I actually live in the most expensive country in Europe..

a083.jpg

The Faroe Islands...

The Wifi Vita costs 2299 kroner. That is 310 euro (405$)
8Gb memory card (the only one that is available up here) costs 699 kr. that is 94 Euro (123$)..

and they do not sell games or anything up here.. I can only buy them on the PSN store.. so 8Gb is way to small for my needs.
I could order from the UK or Denmark.. but taxes and shipping would make it even more expensive..

That's a pretty sick looking hill. Can you climb on it? All of the cool hills in Washington are blocked off by fences.

Still find my Vita sexy to look at/hold in my hands. Not too sure what Sony could actually do with a redesign. Most likely just trim some fat/weight.

Have neglected it for just over a week, an ever growing PS3 back catalogue is to blame. GAME selling off titles really cheap hasn't helped there.

Desperate to get Everybody's Golf, but sadly for my wallet Vita UK retail hasn't bombed as quickly as PS3 titles usually do.

At least you get to kill dolphins in a bloody murder orgy every year.

I have an offocial apple one and an belkin (for apple) one and neither worked.

I'll check out the link, worse case scenerio I buy a spare charger i guess.

I have the Nyko Power Kit. Works just as well as OEM with the cable being a bit better while charging and playing since it's longer and the USB brick being a lot more compact unit than Sony's. On top of all that, the whole package is cheaper than Sony's versions.

I dont own a Vita (yet) but I think it would be interesting to make a list with those games which include an online pass.

I think that would make the decission of importing easier (maybe importing a game and paying the pass for your country is worse decission than just buying the game in your own country).

What do you think?

Congratulations developers of Rayman Origins. Your last level is so fucking infuriating that not only will I never play this game again (I've completed it now, I did have thoughts of maybe going for proper completion) but I might go out of my way to never touch a game of yours again, no matter how good it looks.
