She was REALLY happy about explaining the Vita TV's functions. I mean, I get excited for next-gen, and holidays, and vacations, and satisfying bathroom trips, but I don't know that I've ever been that excited for something.

DS3 on launch in Japan, DS4 support will be coming with a patch. It should be working on launch when it comes to the rest of the world.

I remember reading this a while back on GAF, but you apparently you can play local multiplayer over 2 TV's with Vita TV. Just wanted to have that reconfirmed for me if it's true. I wouldn't use it enough to justify buying Vita TV, but that would be a very cool feature nonetheless.

Issues with games that require touch and/or gyro? I wonder if some of those can be patched out, or they could use the gyro in the DS4 to emulate?

I really really hope this thing won't bomb and come out off Japan. Such an amazing product with a great price.
There is no way this thing will bomb. It is just too cool for school. Sony has to be mindful of the buzz it has reached in other regions.
See, the problem is that Set Top Boxes need either word of mouth or fanatic fans. No set top box has ever had main line advertising. You're right, this won't flop, IF Sony treats it right. Them saying they were surprised at reactions among other crypticness makes me feel like we have bigger plans for this device than they do. I think it'll be the Disney Castle Cornerstone of Light for Sony but I don't know if they do but, seeing them take time to decide when they'll inevitably launch it for other nations shows they'll be treating it gingerly, just like the Vita right now. Where all of their software and media prowess meets gaming. For developing countries the PS4 is nice but, this is better.

I'm surprised they still haven't announced anything concrete for those of us in the rest of the world. I'd love one of these to have at my desk, so that I can play PS4 stuff on my computer monitor when the TV is tied up.

Yeah, I was really hoping that they would bring this over here to NA and Europe this year, doesn't seem likely at all now.

Wow she's enthusiastic. I'm not planning to buy one of these but if I get a lot of free vita games from PS+ over the years I might do so. Or get a regular Vita if the price is right.

Yeah, I bought my Vita at launch and I really want a Vita TV. I mostly play my handhelds at home, so being able to use my Vita on a much bigger screen when I feel like it is a huge plus for me.

I have an import pre-ordered and will give my impressions on it when I get it from Japan the biggest selling point for me was definitely the remote play and the added bonus of some of the PSP fighters like Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX since it's closer to SFA3 Double Upper than the PS1 port
