Really cannot think of a single game out of the launch titles that I want now that gravity isn't making it.

Not sure if I should keep my preorder out of fear of wifi units being under shipped of not.

Really want to get one but can't justify blowing money on a new gaming system this soon after just getting a PS3 :/

Oh well, at least there will be a larger selection of games by the time I get it.

really? opposite problem for me, I'm interested in all of the following

Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
Super StarDust Delta (PSN only)
UNCHARTED: Golden Abyss
wipEout 2048

Army Corps of Hell
Blazblue: Continuum Shift EXTEND
NINJA GAIDEN ∑ PLUS
Rayman Origins (maybe)
Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen
Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition

and just within a month of release

Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention, Gravity Rush, and MLB 12 The Show (possibly Unit 13 as well depending on how good it ends up being)

I highly doubt wifi units will be under shipped. I'm sure Sony knows that'll be the more popular SKU.

And I have a slightly different list of launch games I'm interested in. It's one of the better launches for games I've seen in all my years.

They undershipped the wifi in Japan, and they'll do it again in the West if the margins are significantly better on the 3G version (which they probably are).

Yeah, at $15 a month for 250mb (which i expected), I'll never sign up except maybe for 1 month to get the 'free game'.

If they did blocks of data, pay as you go like Japan, I could see myself doing it.

3G/Wifi made up the majority of the 500k first shipment in Japan...

I thought they shipped more 3G models in Japan just because of that special 100 hour or 20 hour bonus.

The US clearly isn't getting anything close to that in terms of a special promotion.

I'm with you dallow_bg. I just can't see another monthly subscription for 3G for a handheld gaming device. I'm still getting the 3G model but will probably never use the 3G unless they come out with a pay per GB without expiration plan.

I just went to Best Buy and put in my pre-order for the WiFi First Ed. with free Uncharted:GA... I guess I'll have to cancel my EB preorder, but a free copy of Golden Abyss was too good to pass up. This is one launch where it really pays to be Canadian! I think I'll pick up Hot Shots Golf or Virtua Tennis 4 along with my other day one titles with the money I'm saving on U:GA...

I'm booking launch day off work. I'm going to have tons of games to play. Uncharted, Ridge Racer, Hot Shots, Escape Plan, Plants Vs Zombies, Little Deviants. Best launch ever.

Ya, I've booked off the 15th too! I haven't been this hyped about a hardware launch since the Playstation was released... It's kinda fun to be giddy about a piece of tech again after so many years - I was beginning to think I was jaded... or maybe I'm just senile...

Wait, that's Canada only? BS -_- You guys get the Wifi First Edition Bundle and a free Uncharted promotion. Woe is me D:

I'm debating the 15th. I might try and get the 16th and 17th off as that weekend is a long one for Toronto.

Has there been any word of a midnight launch in the US for the Vita on Feb 14 and/or Feb 21? I've got mine reserved at Gamestop (yeah, I know) but haven't heard anything.

I'm getting the 3G/Wi Fi Vita, so this AT&T news is interesting to me.

Ideally, I'd like it if existing AT&T customers could get this added to their plans for a discount. I have AT&T for my internet, which I pay $45 a month for. It'd be great if I could just add an additional $10 to it and have my Vita 3G coverage included on the bill...

Depending on what the free game is, I'd probably pay for the $15 first month, if anything, to see how much usage I'll actually be getting out of it.

The 3G would mostly be useful for me browsing/watching Netflix on the bus ride to and from work. At home and work, I'd be logged into the Wi Fi at either, so I can't really imaging my usage would be too big to warrant the $25 plan (when it comes to netflix, i'll usually watch a 20 minute show or something on the bus to kill time on my phone, then listen to music or read on my Kindle app).

I won't be picking up many Vita games at launch (so far, just Uncharted, because I'm on the fence about Shinobido, and LBP isn't out until June).

I'm dying for Gravity Rush and Ruin, but hopefully by the time they release, I'll have more money. My purchase is already creeping over $400 at the moment. I'm expecting to reach $500+ by the time I'm finished with getting everything I need.

Is there anything that used the GPS? I am trying to decide between the First Edition or keeping my WIFI preorder. Isn't the 3G version the only one that has GPS?

The 250mb plan will definitely not work for you then. When I watch Netflix on my phone, I can use around 250mb watching a single 30min episode of a TV show.

As far as what I've read, the 3G model is the only one with GPS. I imagine there may be some augmented reality games that require GPS (like Monster Radar in Japan)

I'll be sticking with Hot Shots and Uncharted for now, but I'm guessing I'll pick up BlazBlue as well.

Is there a size limit on the carts? Curious as to what we can expect for downloads in the store.

Based on the info sony gave at GDC 2GB and 4GB are the sizes for game cards right now.

I had seen the following posted here on GAF before but I couldn't remember which of the Vita threads it was posted in so I pulled this from another website. This list doesn't have some of the games that will be released with the US launch, of course, but it may give you an idea for how many and what types of games you can fit on a memory card:

The Japan Store was updated with tons of Vita content and their sizes.

AR Combat DigiQ: Friend Tank Battalion – 220 MB
Army Corps of Hell – 598 MB
Asphalt Injection – 724 MB
BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend – 3180 MB
Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die – 121 MB
Dark Quest: Alliance – 1057 MB
Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention – 1619 MB
Dream Club Zero Portable – 2835 MB
Dynasty Warriors Next – 1485 MB
Everybody’s Golf 6 – 1100 MB
F1 2011 – 1435 MB
Little Deviants – 869 MB
Live Tweet – 5760 KB
Lord of Apocalypse – 1427 MB
Mahjong Fight Club – 793 MB
Michael Jackson: The Experience HD – 1225 MB
Minna to Issho: Friend Network – 168 MB
Monster Radar – 1640 MB

Hmm... Does anyone know if you can use the GPS when you are on WIFI? I'm thinking about just using my phone's wireless tethering.

I took 1/2 day 15th, 16th & 17th off. Uncharted and Hot Shots for me. Don't want to get too big of a back log like I have for PS3 and PC.

Awesome. That's what I was hoping for. I guess I'm getting the 3G model in case they come out with some cool GPS stuff later.

Yeah, this my ultimate decision as well. I'll get on month if $15 service for whatever free game they're offering and that's about it.

I just want the option of having a full featured Vita with GPS.

I am so tempted to place my preorder on Amazon. Got some credit to use, so I'd only pay $228 for the system and a 16GB Memory Card.

My B/day is next month, so I'd just ask for Uncharted and MLB 12 to start with.

I have't bought a handheld since the 3ds, I've been going through withdrawal :lol

Thank you, sirs.

I'll admit I was there day one for the 3DS too... and though I was happy to pick it up on release, I was never really "hyped" for it - I just bought it because it's my habit; I'm a handheld whore from way back, and I like grabbing the new systems on release... but this one I'm genuinely excited about, which is a change. Even the PSP didn't have me this pumped until AFTER I'd bought it and played Wipeout for the first time...
