Lack of online multiplayer completely destroys whatever advantage being a launch game could possibly give it. They'll end up destroying the franchise. It was an unbelievably stupid decision.
Yep, personally i wont buy this game at launch because of the lack of online multiplayer. I might buy the game at some point regardless though. The single player stuff was fun enough i think, but it wont be a launch title for me.

Best place to get a day 1 bundle in America?

If I order the first edition bundle, will there be other games available? If I order a few games from Amazing with my first edition will they split shipment?

According to Amazon, Uncharted, Hot Shots, Wipeout, FIFA, Marvel vs Capcom, Modnation, BlazBlue, Lumines, F1 2001, Dungeon Hunter, and the Michael Jackson game will all be available by February 15th.

Not sure if it's worth it. Little Deviants looks okay, and the game is fine but that is $60, what else makes it worth the extra $40? That case?

The first edition is an extra $50 and includes Little Deviants, a 4GB memory stick and an exclusive case.

If I was someone of San Diego Studios, I'll be really scared. Nearly all comments are from people that are not only dissapointed about the lack of online, they are saying that they won't buy the game without online and they ask about delaying the game to have online in.

Thanks for reminding me about ModNation Mondays. I made sure to voice my opinion in the blog post. ;)

I'm sure that they will, at least, announce online post-launch update before launch.

You know, I'm thinking that it's a month away from release, and the development team might be wrapping up right about now, with the game about to "go gold" and get sent off to production. So, it's possible that it might be too late for the game to be released with online play.

If that's the case, then I'd be willing to accept a post-launch "online play" patch for the game. However, this must be released very quickly after release--no more than a month or two later--and I wouldn't consider buying the game until that patch does come out.

What the developers need to do is acknowledge this by saying, "Sorry, the game's 'gone gold' and we couldn't squeeze online play into the retail package...however, we've listened to your feedback and will add the feature in a patch very shortly after release." If they can manage to do that, then they might be able to salvage the game's reputation.

If it's a console port, they should be able to do it in time. I'm not sure what other features they have that is different, but they could just not have put more resources into it and kept it at a low price point.

Like test_account said, this isn't really a port, but a "sequel" of sorts with tweaked play mechancis that also has the benefit of allowing players to dip into the vast pool of user-created content from the PS3 version. You'd think such a package should instantly spell "winner" for Sony, but then the developers had to go and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by cutting out online play.

Not even getting any launch games, going to wait for Little Deviants to drop in price and Gravity rush. Locoroco 2 will last me a while on the Vita.

Technically wouldn't the ad-hoc party feature work? or is that for PSP only feature?

Yes, probably the game is gold and they already sent the gold copy to the press. But if they announce the online feature soon, they are able to control the damage.

And if they are really fast, they may be even able of having the online infraestructure patch finished by launch (there are a lot of other games that they could reuse the online protocol part, like wipeout) and then sell the game with the "moltiplayer online" sticker on the box (even if the online is not phisically on the disc, it would be a mandatory game update).

If I remember correctly, Motorstorm 1 didn't had online (or any PS3 game at japanese launch) and they managed to get the online by US launch and also patch the japanese version.

The 3G subscription for the Vita, does it work like the iPad, where you aren't on a contract, you just activate and pay that month if you need it, right? I don't want another subscription.

I added my comments to the blog, I think #49 and #50.

I didn't know for sure if I would buy the game at launch, but I know for sure I will not now.

Alright, quick Wipeout impressions. Track in the demo is WAY wider than a track in most other Wipeout games (which I really like), runs at 30 fps which I think we knew already, music if fucking rad, and the UI designer should be given a raise. Other than that it is totally fucking Wipeout, which means it is awesome.

Oh, and the demo is totally in English so I would imagine the full game in Japan will be as well.

Good to hear! And this puppy comes out...shit, so SOON!

Alright, so a few other things.

-Screenshots (hopefully only in the demo) are not allowed.

-It looks really gorgeous, maybe not quite Wipeout HD but definitely close.

-My experince with Wipeout is mostly from Pure on, so I don't know if this is new, but it seems like now there are 2 types of weapon pads. Green ones give you more defensive items like mines, shield, boost. Orange ones give rockets, plasma, cannon, etc.

-Looks like there is some sort of persistence in place, you earn XP after each race don't really know what that will get you.

But yeah, I can't wait till Feb 22nd. I would import it but I gotta save up for the US launch as it is.

The moment I hear the game is bilingual, I'll run down to the shops. Japanese isn't a problem, but it's just a luxury...and I don't think, given the chance, I can hold out until the international release date!

Awesome! We already knew it would be awesome, but nice to hear confirmation of it! I will agree with you in hoping that the no-screenshot thing is only in the demo.

This is new to the series, they've done it to add another strategic decision to the racing (although I like the weapon/absorb mechanic in HD).

So building up my launch bundle. Looking at these atm.
Anyone want to share any thoughts on the following:

- Dungeon Hunter Alliance
(Need an RPG/ Hack N Slash. If this game is crap, please suggest something from the PSP store)
- Raymans Origins
- Touch My Katamari
(Have not played a Katamari since the second one for PS2)
- Shinobido 2 - Revenge of Zen

Optionally:
- Army Corps Of Hell
- EA Sports Fifa Football

Dungeon Hunter's features sound awesome on paper, but falls short due to it's Gameloft level of polish. Get something else.

Yeah TBH did not do alot of research on this. Reading about it now, it seems to be a port from the PSN version, which sounds pretty shitty. Gah I just wanted a loot game to keep me busy heh.

Dungeon Hunter Alliance is the worst game ever, played it co-op on PS3 with my friend, it's boring, redundant, lacks everything, please don't buy it, please.
Thank you

What about the game previously known as "Ruin"? Is that not launch?

If it's a PSN only game (like in Japan) I wouldn't really expect a price drop anytime soon.

You guys know any online store in NA that ships Vita internationally? The prices are ridiculously high here.

$315 for Wifi and around $400 for 3G.

Yeah, I'll probably go with this.

$43.09 (w/tax) at Sony

vs.

$47.49 at Amazon --- factoring in the 5% off cashback through Chase.

Although man, 5-7 business days for shipping does suck. I'll probably just grab it at Best Buy and then return it back to Best Buy once I get my copy in from Sony.

edit: Little Deviants is also $29.99 on the Sony site
