Ps2 rpg's that i may have missed that i should check out?

i'm just recently getting caught up on my ps2 RPG's. i've played ff 10, I just finished shadowhearts: covenant and i'm working through SMT: Nocturne... I have Dark cloud 2 sitting on my shelf, waiting to play it when i finish nocturne... I'm looking for other older ps2 rpg's that i may have missed...

until recently i've had a policy of avoiding games that don't get a 9 from either gamespot or IGN... i've decided to forgo that policy on rpg's because they often seem to get underrated (especially jrpgs). but as a result i think i've missed out on tons of games.

right now i'm looking at buying...

*deus ex (missed out on playing the pc version, and i don't play pc games anymore)
*suikoden 3

are there any others i need to keep in mind? Everybody seems to love dragon quarter here, but i heard it was really short and i prefer rpg's that are at least 30+ hours. Is the replay value good enough to make up for it?... Just looking for opinions because i'm totally out of the loop on rpg's this gen other than the western rpg's on xbox.

edit// in previous gens, i played a fair number of rpgs, but my favorite series was phantasy star... i missed out on most of the ps1 rpgs because i was obsessed with pc gaming at the time.

The PS2 version of Deus Ex is annoying (poor framerate, constant loading) but it is still playable and is dirt cheap by now. It wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up a used copy and try it out.

I would recommend Star Ocean 3, it's pretty long and it's down to 19.99

If your looking at action-rpg's, I like Kingdom Hearts

PS2 Deus Ex, plays just fine. People tend to often misrepresent this awesome port. Rock-solid control scheme and a superior interface to the PC version to boot! Ion Storm put lots of care and attention into the transition.

The big one that is missing from all of the above posts is Disgaea. It's hard to find, but not impossible by any means.

I'd like to play all of the PS2 RPG's released in the US, but I'm sure as heck not paying 55-60 bucks plus shipping for a game that would otherwise be 20.

Then do not waste your time with PS2 RPGs at this point in time. You've got pure gold waiting for you in the PSX selection.

I had some fun playing Legaia 2: Duel Saga, the original on PSX was better but the sequel is still good.

Um...also Deus Ex was alright on PS2, but the PC version was better IMO.

My friend had a good number of PSOne RPG's. I tried to play them one time, but the graphics turned me off. I played one of the Tales games and it seriously reminded me of an SNES title.

PS - Sell me your SMT:N when your done with it ;)

heh i got lucky and found it at gamestop for 40 bucks used, but unfortunatley, there was no instruction book. Luckily my sister loaned me the strategy guide, which i've been using sparingly to avoid spoilers while learning the game systems.

from the replies, it sounds like Deus ex is a definite pickup for me since they have it at my local gamestop for less that 10 dollars.

as for ps1 RPg's i'm thinking about FF tactics... i rented that once and thought it was pretty amazing... i'm also pretty sure i can pick it up at my local gamestop for a pittance. the only problem is that my PS2 has a short in memory card slot 1, and i'll probably ruin it taking out ps2 cards and putting in ps1 cards. My ps2 is basicly held together with sticky tape and rust (ruined mem card slot, short in my A/V cord, takes a full minute to find a disk when you turn it on...)
