PS3 game demo showcase videos!!

The KZ2 demo floored me, literally, I'm finding it hard to believe thats anything other than a pre-rendered simulation of hoped/expected results.

But then I saw the Motor Storm footage at the end (Not to mention everything else in the middle) - So know my heads telling me that has to be a pre-renderened simulation too.

Motor Storm just looks ... forget it - no words are coming...

Most anticipated title for me, Mad Max style racing to the extreme.

Very Very Impressed, Next Gen is going to be... hotchawowa! (See I even had to make a damn word up).
 
i agree everything looks great, especially F1 and Killzone, but Motor Swarm seems to be the cream of the crop it just looks absolutely stunning
 
Yeah, if Motorstorm was an honest representation of what will be the final build, it has become my most anticipated next gen title.

And the PS3 won't ship for at least 10 months. MAybe a bit more.

Can only get better.

Damn machine is amazing.
 
Motor Storm had to be pre-rendered. I mean...it just HAD to be. If that's the level of interactivity and graphics we can expect, that's the most amazing thing I've ever seen, and it makes high-end PC games look like they're on the NES. :P
 
Some of that was looking really sweet. Although there was a pretty high number of FPS games there, which isn't something I'd normally get excited over. The Insomniac FPS was a particular kick in the nuts. I was watching the footage thinking, "WWII FPS now that's not a cliche, all it needs are some mutants and it's generic mainstream fodder city ahoy...oh there they are". To say I was gobsmacked with dissapointment when the Insomniac logo popped up would be an understatement. I kept hoping it meant the next game was the Insomniac one. I did like the level of interactivity in the Ubisoft one. Hopefully that's the sort of thing we can expect throughout next-gen games.
 
I'm on a 56K right now.

What PS3 stuff shown so far has been in-game? What about just the movies? I'm assuming the Western stuff is in-game, while the Japanese stuff was just movies. Then again, I haven't dared to watch this stuff because of my connection.
 
Can anyone download these vids yet? I either get an error or kicked out to the front page.

When will IGN be uploading HD versions of these games? I want to seee.. 06:08 am in the morning and I aint going to bed before I have seen these games in their full glory. :D

Exact opposite reaction to that vid, Insomniac's FPS is looking AMAZING. Damn I love those guys.

Gamespot has downloadable versions of a few of them, although you need to be logged in to Basic to get them.

I just finished watching the confrence (which was aparently a good idea rather then watching MS's clusterfuck)

I walked away seriously impressed. There was business for the first 20 or so mins, then they focused on tech demos and games.

Congrats to gamespot for getting the confrence up so quick.

I'm going to preorder whenever I can, spring seems so close now :)

Same with Formula 1 and Tekken. Please need to understand that as well.
 
The games look good, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up after the X360 realization :P Killzone is about what I wanted Halo 3 to look likt, so here's hoping its realtime. Gran Tursimo didn't really impress at all though, aside from the pit.
 
Those videos look amazing, but I'm always a bit suspicious of Sony's idea of "realtime." Hopefully those are more accurate to what we'll see at launch than what they showcased for the PS2. And I wish they would have showed some type of platformer...

Motor Storm looks like the most fun you can possibly have driving! Heavenly Sword is absolutely freaking sweet, and WARHAWK baby!!! What was the first video FPS game? It and KZ2 look freaking incredible.

Call me a fanboy if you want but the 360 has nothing except Gears that competes with those games.

So much for no originality...

I'm so sold I may have to import from Japan depending on launch dates.

Did anyone check the real-time FFVII demo? Cloud looked like a badass instead of a panzy. Bring on FFXIII!

Every demo for the PS2 was equeled or surpassed during the life of the console.

I don't think it's as impressive as Killzone visually, but I'm liking it. It has a very '50s B movie feel to it. Plus, it's Insomniac, so you know it's going to play better than Killzone.

i'm going to go ahead and buy the hype that the killzone footage was realtime, because certain aspects of it looked real time to me... it is beyond my expectations by a small margin... best looking thing i've seen so far but i haven't watched much of it yet, and there are a few games from the ms thing (oblivion) that i want to see in high res

edit// i think this stuff is real time, but with no game code running behind it, so it may be downgraded a bit in the end, but they could downgrade this a little and it would STILL kick ass.
 
That is pretty much what I imagined the next generation would look like.

MS really disappointed me with their vids and Sony came through.
 
wow that fall back to earth is going to hurt a lot of people in 06 =P

Right now its a battle of who has the better videos. Sony seems to have won. But as long as these two keep fighting we will be the real winners :D


I love how gamespot has "gameplay footage" on the links, too funny :lol
 
wtf, i just woke up...at first i thought it was impressive but after a few clips it's obvious that most of this stuff is prerendered, in pure sony fashion, can't you see that ?

Judging by the people's reaction they probably did the right thing, at least they wowed the crowd and they didn't show unfinished, unpolished stuff running off unfinished hardware.
