What online chat because that is the only difference

gamerecks said:Right for what? A BETA having issues. Calling it a turd is your own opinion. You may not like it, but others do.
rainking187 said:Yeah, the rest of it is accurate, but what the hell is wrong with Heavenly Sword?
gamerecks said:Uh do people understand this is still in the Beta phase, which entails an experience that probably wont match the official product.
CrapSandwich said:It is a turd... come on. There's so much wrong. Not only is there not much to do, but you have to wait in line to do it. It's a clusterfuck. Even if all the activities were virtualized, it's still slim pickings. That's been the problem with Home from the get-go. It doesn't offer much to compete with other games unless you REALLY love chess and the running man. Even as a chat/social interface, which seems like the one thing that Home is supposed to do do well, it's broken.

Have found it to be a lot of fun bowling and play pool and shit with them. If your walkin round like a nigel then its probly gonna suck for you but only cause you suck.
jman2050 said:The fundamental idea behind Home is flawed. There is nothing they can do to fix that short of scrapping the whole thing altogether.

Jim said:It's a fun time waster to screw around with before jumping into a game. Since the beta, if I see friend there, I pop on for a few minutes, and end up being there longer than I expected. When they start populating Home with more events and goodies, I'm sure I'll drop by to check 'em out for a few minutes. Nothing more.
But some people are taking it entirely too seriously.

Cruzader said:Exactly. The main point is to socialize, not to go play flash/arcade games and wait in line. Thats not the point, its just there to "enrich" the environment.(something along those lines) Its great if you go there and chat with your buddies for a while before let say booting up a game and its fun. Obiously you cant do it yet but thats what its about. All of the ppl that log into Home for 5 mins and expect to be "floored" are dumb. "Oh guys this thing is shit, damn SOny fails..."

But seriously I agree that the item prices are way too high. Home items shouldn't use real world money. They should have a system where $1 real world = $500 home money.
BeeDog said:The problem with that analogy is that Steam was connected to one of the most anticipated sequels in recent gaming history. People truly had to put up with that shit so they could play their precious game.
Right now, there is no incentive whatsoever to stick around in Home, other than to buy shitty shirts or raving with other unknown wackos in a line. It's borderline retarded to have shipped with so little support from devs (game launching etc.), and it's mighty obvious that they just wanted to have this as a bullet point ("hey we released Home in 2008!").
Or they could just use items as rewards for "points" you acquire through games, like say assigning point values to trophies.angelfly said:But seriously I agree that the item prices are way too high. Bronze = 10 pts.
Silver = 30 pts.
Gold = 50 points.
Platinum = 500 points
Of course, that's just not how things are done these days.
EDIT: Also, I'm pretty sure I remember Phil Harrison or someone mentioning that the basic features of Home would be available through the OS, in response to everyone who was asking, "Why do we have to go into Home to do these things?" Lies? I just want cross-game voice chat, honestly.
Ha. The Far Cry 2 space is where I decided that I'd let Sony take another couple of years to play with Home before I give it another shot. It was...just a room. About the size of a living room...that's it, nothing there. Nothing interesting to look at either. With about 50 confused people with their background noise; parents yelling, babies crying, etc. Why the hell is that even there?Station42 said:those underwhelmed by US home should see EU home....
