has sony said anything when new content (like spaces for the EU people like me) is published?

also this stupid 'Thursday only' crap?

I think the soonest we can expect new content will probably be a Christmas update on Christmas eve.

I had heard next Thursday there would be some sort of update. (Red Bull minigame, among other things) Don't remember where I heard it though so it could be inaccurate. Either way I wouldn't be surprised if there were weekly updates, even if only things like new clothes, etc...

I still wish I had gotten all the stuff from the Closed BETA, paying $0.00 for everything makes more sense than $1 for a digital shirt.

So when/how do I get into Home, I can't find it anywhere on my system. I'm in Canada if that matters.

its an icon under the playstation store icon on the xmb if i remember correctly. I'm in Canada too.

Anybody wanna fess up to paying real money in Home?

Not yet. The summer home eventually, MAYBE. And if something I REALLY like comes out in the stores. But I definitely won't buy more than one or two things, if any.

Now, if trophies are made into currency...that's another story...

Honestly, it would be pretty cool if your "level" in your profile (I'm level 5, for example) would give you some sort of monthly "allowance" in currency. That would ensure people stay interested in items, and maybe encourage people to buy one or two things that their monthly allowance won't quite allow for...

By the way, anyone who agrees with this, should go onto my post at the official Home forums (US) and quote my post ( http://boardsus.playstation.com/pla...w=by_date_ascending&message.id=473320#M473320 ) in a reply, so as to make sure it gets attention from the moderators. The more attention it gets, the more likely it is that we see some system of that sort created...

Upon downloading home installing etc it took me 10-15 trys to actually get ti to sign in. Then its loads of loading for pretty tiny areas, chugging frame rate and you need to spend like £5 to make you virtual apartment not look completely bare.

Yeah i deleted home, boring and just not very well done.

What is the general state of the service at the moment? Any technical problems still? Are people still not able to connect?

It's functional but the framerate is truly awful. I'm starting to think it has nothing to do with network latency but a really shitty engine. If so it needs a major patch/rewrite cause the performance in home completely sucks.

I think I like this home thing loads of annoying people but it's not too bad.

Also how do you get those spacemen like suits?

Huh? I've never had framerate problems, apart from the occasional lag when displaying items.

It's actually surprisingly solid....when you're able to connect. I usually get a network error or two before finally being able to sign in.

I'm assuming that this will be fixed after this mornings PSN maintenance.

Wha? I've never seen the framerate problems you just stated. It does usually take at least two tries to connect though.

Can I actually buy a bigger home and put a bowling alley or pool/checkers/chess in there? I hate having to wait for people to get off and would rather do it privately anyways since I'm with friends most of the time.

I still can't believe that in all this time I was in the beta previous to this they couldn't fix the problem of arcades. I mean, why the fuck should I have to wait for someone to get off it to play it? It should load up for anyone who goes to it.

That's what I'm saying! I know I've seen it in videos but this is my biggest gripe. I actually enjoy being in there to chill out and play some pool but to have to stalk a table is pretty low. Me and a friend kept joining and leaving a game for 5 minutes until the user eventually left the table and we were able to play. Were criminal like that!

The waiting for games does suck.

There would probably a whole crowd of people around the games if that wasn't the case though.

They need a way to go into the least populated space, and be able to take friends with you.

I think as they add more spaces with games people will be more spread out.

If a 3rd party makes a home space and wants to generate some traffic and interest all they'd need to do is put a few games outside of it and people will come.

If it helps any, one insider on another forum said that Sony's been looking into giving people credit in Home based on trophies for a while now. Don't know if they're actually going to do it, but they are contemplating it.

I'm sure that's quite on purpose, don't expect it to get fixed any time soon.

The lobbies are dynamically generated, so there should be no empty ones.

How come there isn't a thread for Home avatar customization? Clothings are lacking, and I'm disappointed there isn't a color editor, but I thought the face editor was quite robust.

If only Sony allowed color editing for the clothings...but I guess they want to charge for a red shirt and a green shirt.
Seriously, this pic has GOT to be a homage to the girl in the Hot Women Thread Part Deux.

Yeah it is odd. A number of people have experienced framerate stability issues, while others like yourself claim it's been totally fine. It may well be a network utilization issue but i'm not sure...the other night I was in JP Home square with about 10 people in it and the framerate was chugging to hell and back, and that was after the horrible first few minutes when my HDD was going crazy loading everyone up. Deffo not good. In fact i've never had a smooth session. Connecting from UK...

I remember ages ago seeing footage of Home which had major tearing issues so to me it just looks like they enabled v-lock and pushed it out the door without a great deal of optimization. Pure speculation on my part of course... I have no idea.

Is there any way that sony will get rid of the "realistic" world and make a LBP version of home? Seriously sackboys/girls are easier to customize and have better emotions and stuff...that would rule. The other day I was brainstorming the "perfect" or better version of Home and I came up with a clash of LBP + Animal Crossing + Toro Cat game. that would appeal to both hardcore and casual me thinks. Ideas?

I check in on home regularly for a few minutes whenever I power up my PS3... I'd never visit the version you just described...

Me either, don't really understand what makes grown men want to represent themselves with a plush doll...

I finally got back on PAL Home after unlocking some Namco stuff, and my Echochrome stuff got replaced with some Namco stuff. What happens if I re-unlock the Echochrome stuff?

He oversold the concept to himself.

It's better for Home to get a critical but tenacious lead right now. Some of the stuff he highlighted won't make much differences. Sony, just focus on making game launching in Home fun and fast.

Are there actually screens of the Forbidden Siren space?
