PS3 Home Official Thread

Xevious is killing me. I still have to find the flag and the Sol tower. Once I get those two I'll get the table top and the arcade machine.

It's free, and in beta at the moment. As above, get a Hong Kong or Japan PSN acct then download it.

I got the Sol tower but for the life of me I can't get the flag to show up. Bombing it directly where the flag is shown in the image but nothing happens. Anyone?

I still can't get in. I keep getting the c-931 error. Any hints on getting 'round this? After being on the beta for over a year and seeing nothing new it really grips my shit that it's now got new stuff and I can't access it.

Just wondering, did you have any trouble with the Namco stuff erasing the rewards you got from Ice Breaker/Echochrome? I don't feel like replaying those, but it'd be nice to ALSO have the Namco arcades...
 
Anyone else get this problem? I unlocked some of the Namco stuff by downloading the beta to my JP account and unpacking and playing on the PAL account. But now I constantly get error "C-931" as I try to enter. Some friends are in Home so it's not down. Could the Namco stuff have corrupted my profile or something, and if so, how do I fix it?

No don't worry, I have it too (EU Home) has a lot of problems getting in you just have to keep trying and it will let you in at some point :0

I'm pretty sure C-931 is not a corruption of any sort. I think it's just a matter of congestion. The Home system is not optimized for the amount of traffic they've received yet. While it's actually surprisingly good for a broad network of its capacity, there are still exceptions here and there. Keep at it and you should get in eventually...
 
Does anyone know where there's a tutorial on how to make a Japanese PSN account as of 2.53/the release of Home? The one tutorial I found is different from the new PSN account creation screen, so I'm not doing something right, and don't understand...

Nope actually if you look closely the shoes I'm wearing are the Echochrome reward shoes :)

Nice. Do you know of a current up-to-date tutorial on creating a JP PSN account? All the ones I've found are outdated...

edit: Nvm, Youtube has them. I just searched Japanese PSN 2.53 and it was one of the results.
 
Does anyone know how to make the carrot and the turnip appear in Dig Dug? I got the turnip randomly but I don't know how to get the carrot. Any thoughts?

Wait so to get the arcade machine all I have to do is go to the Japanese Home? Then once I get them I can use them in my American Home? Or is the stuff region locked.

Step 1: Download the Namco Museum beta from the Japanese PSN store.
Step 2: Play the beta on your American account. If you earn an achievement in the beta, a new Home item will be unlocked.
Step 3: Enter Home to access your new items. You can only play the arcade machines from a Japanese account.

I look forward to Home when games start giving you stuff for getting trophies since I like collecting stuff. Although, anyone that actually pays for anything in the mall is insane.

Right now it's pretty pointless for me, but I still think it's a pretty cool, free hub for Sony to give out. I need to try and get those arcade machines.
 
I've gotta say, I did the Namco museum stuff, but I lost my Echochrome table. Thankfully I found those tricks to get essentially infinite points in Echochrome, or it would be painful. Left the controller with a book leaning on it for 35 minutes to get it back, haha...
 
Ok, so I recently got my PS3 so I'm not sure of my way around. How do I get this? The PR says that I reboot the system but I can't see it anywhere in the XMB after doing this and I've looked all around the PS Store and can't see an entry for it. Where is it?
 
How come there isn't a thread for Home avatar customization? Clothings are lacking, and I'm disappointed there isn't a color editor, but I thought the face editor was quite robust.

If only Sony allowed color editing for the clothings...but I guess they want to charge for a red shirt and a green shirt.
 
I've also just managed to get all the Namco items (which is quite a feat for me since I suck badly at Pacman, Galaga, and Xevious). I quite like the Pacman shirt... I want one! :D

I was bored tonight, and tried the exact same thing. My female avatar would change to a very effeminite looking emo kid with blue hair, white Echochrome gloves, and the Namco beta highwaters who then proceeded to dance and blow kisses and strike debonair poses. When that got old s/he transformed into the ugliest thing I could possibly create (think obesia in Home). The results in the Uncharted lounge were particularly hillarious with one guy saying "how do i get outta this room, how do I get outta this room" over and over again.

I highly recommend trying this, many lulz to be had. It's also great for breaking up dance lines.:D
