A user on the EU forums has found a trailer for a Fat Princess Home space:

I imagine it will be here tomorrow.

I hope this means Fat Princess will have the "Launch from Home" feature.

Edit:

That's the Event space. Looks like they're going to celebrate the worldwide launch this Thursday with a temporary space.

That probably means no to Home Launching. Shucks.

It would be good if it did have game launching. Game launching makes a lot of sense for multiplayer PSN games as they can be just selected from the hard drive rather than relying on others putting discs in etc.

After my YLOD, Home has ceased to load. Everythng else is fine "Infamous", Red Faction" Blu-Rays. But I can't get by the Home loading screen! Only tried twice in separate occasions, though. Has anyone experienced this since last patch?

Anyone have the link to the PlayStation.com forum post listing all the freebies? I remember it on here a while back and had added it to my bookmarks but it's not there.

Whoa i want some of that stuff. Where can i buy that baby blue shirt and hat.

I'm not sure if you got a reply for this or not.

The baby blue stuff is free. They are rewards for the Ice Breaker game in the Bowling Alley space. The game is definitely the best of the arcades in there, and if you get to level 20 you can unlock a Penguin figurine for your apartment.

Any of you guys play the Infamous Shooting Gallery mini-game yet? I think that's the best done mini-game in home. Anyone know if Sucker Punch did it or they contracted it out? There level of quality in both Infamous and their home space is head and shoulders above the pack. I can't wait to see more from them.

I tried the Buzz space a few weeks ago, and to my pleasant surprise, I happened to be the only one in the lead thanks to the fact that NOBODY besides myself knew the PAL title for Bully: Canis Canem Edit (or rather, the game's school's slogan thing).

Everyone went to the word that started with a C, and I was all alone on Edit :lol

I got a 25 questions shirt, and a first place shirt. Is that all there is to get from that space?

Also... :lol @ the "function of the internet" quote :lol

There's a 100 question shirt on Buzz.

Why did they permanently take away the RC Pro Am arcade clone since the closed beta? That game was fun!

I've only gotten the 1st place shirt but i know there's also a shirt for getting 100 questions right in a row. There's no way I'm trying for that one.

Finally they've revamped the movie theater in the US.

We're proud to announce another major core space update. The Movie Theater brings you ten times as much exciting content [including from the PS.Blog! -Jeff] with a brand-new 10-screen layout, a new lobby, and the ability to unlock rewards in select screening rooms. Be sure to check out the screening rooms often - you never know when one of them will be giving something away. Stay tuned for lots of exclusive new videos over the coming months, including the future possibility of full-length TV shows or movies, with new features debuting on a regular basis.

Hopefully they SYNCHRONIZE the movies so that everyone is watching the same scenes at the same time.

Also, they've added Motorstorm Pacific Rift Game launching

Next, the first wave of MotorStorm content will be swerving into PlayStation Home with MotorStorm Pacific Rift Game Launching functionality topping the bill. If you're new to Game Launching, click here for more info on how this great functionality works.

As to synchronize, only if they have a calendar of play times. Otherwise, I would hate to walk in and see something half way through.

They should add a XMB calendar where you can make notes and meets and invites with friends to play at certain times. With reminders and all.

Absolutely. GAF Movie night would be great if it worked that way.

Looks like Home is still down today. EA Sports Home devs have posted a nice piece of info on their blog:

http://insideblog.easports.com/default.aspx?Sort=MostRecent&PageIndex=1

little snip:

The EA SPORTS Pro Shop is now open on the first floor of the EA SPORTS Racing Complex. Featuring boxing outfits form the hit game FIGHT NIGHT Round 4, the opening of the Pro Shop is just a hint of things to come from EA SPORTS on Home. The picture below shows the introductory selection of outfits created using assets directly from the game. Authentic boxing gloves, shorts, boots, headgear and a shirt are all included in each set. You will also find a complete set of furniture from Club Fight Night to decorate your personal space with.

I jumped onto Home last night and was finally able to sit at a poker table and play. Usually the tables are either empty or occupied but this time I got into a full table immediately. Was a *lot* of fun. Great style of play. People were not goofing around. I love that it keeps track of your winnings and lets you play higher stakes. All for no charge. Definitely one of the best games on Home.

Tried out a bunch of the new spaces this afternoon.

Fat Princess space is visually excellent, and the minigame was fun, although relatively easy. It was worth it though, to see the Princess after I fed her all the cake. Clap

Then I wandered over to the new movie theater, there's almost too much content in there now, I didn't know where to begin. They've got marquees showing what's playing in each cinema, and they have a nice selection to choose from. The insides of each individual theater have not changed though (booo to that, how hard is it to give me a damn option to view the video screen in full screen when I sit down in a seat?).

Then, I went to the Burn Zombie Burn space, and it's excellent. I wasn't able to get into the minigame there, as it's instanced, so there was a huge line, boo to that design choice. Visually, the space is awesome though, and it's pretty clear that devs are getting the hang of this whole Home as a promotion thing, with zombies wandering around advertising the game, and zombie merchants where you can buy the game right from the space, very slick.

Next up, the Namco arcade, where you can boot right into any Namco arcade game, as well as a bunch of other minigames and trailers to check out. This was probably my least fave space I went to today, if only because the design felt a little bland.

Next, I went to the inFAMOUS space, and tried my hand at graffiti design. Hard as hell to wrap my head around the controls, but once I figured it out, I managed to create some (completely awful) stuff. Also had some fun running around finding hidden phone numbers and going to the payphone to talk to (I assume) characters from the game still trapped in the city.

All in all, lots of good stuff to check out if you haven't been on in a while. Unlocked plenty of freebies for my avatar and apartment, including new outfits, furniture and accessories.

One thing I noticed though (beside the usual complaints of integrating the software in with the rest of the PSN), they really need to revamp the whole World Menu setup, there's now so many spaces that navigating them all is becoming quite the pain. It's almost to the point now, where that menu should be set up ala the PSN Store, with categories, and simple, quick menus instead of having to load so much bloated content at once.

Yes the world map is pretty atrocious. I checked out the Burn Zombie Burn space and dear lord they need to change the music. It's like a 10 second clip repeated endlessly.

Oh there are free items for everyone who goes into Theater Room #2!

I'm not using home in any social aspects (but I know it is a good way for people to connect, if they are not into forums etc.), but I still like to check out the new content from time to time, especially new spaces.

Plus I like to collect "all" the free stuff for the time when Home becomes cool :lol

If they had the current amount of content from the start of the open beta, I think the general options about home would not be so negative (wonder why Sony did not just "forced" all their developers to do some quick&dirty spaces for Sony-games).

Fat Princess reward is horribly textured and too huge. I wanted a throne, not a cartoonish one. :/ (Though, I'm sure some will enjoy it).

I couldn't even get the maze mini-game in Burn Zombie Burn to load.

As for Poker, you haven't ran into the "freezing" lag-switch people yet, have you? I guess they moved all over to the red tables to try to win the gold bracelet (which I still have yet to get :lol ). Overall a kinda-lame update for me.

I like the new Shakira video in the theater, I think that's the sluttiest video of hers that I've seen yet :D
Is it the one where she's in the gold cage? I saw it in the OT.

mmmmmm slutty.

checked out the fat princess space yesterday and it is all kinds of awesome to see the characters you play in-game in home life sized models. Too bad we can't have them in our personal spaces.

Apparently next week there will exclusive Chris Angel vidoe and a free coffin sofa.

I've never had any issues with the poker room TheSeks, but then I've only played it a couple of times.

Is there a way to screenshot in Home? And with an Apple branded keyboard on top of that. I would try to search the thread but I'm using mobile GAF right this second.

There's a mobile GAF?

Iam a little perplexed that you can't purchase games in HOME yet instead of going to the PSN store?

If they managed to get background downloading working while on Home then they might include it, not really much point until then unless they have a system where you purchase the game and it starts to download once you exit Home.

They are using the music from The Day The Earth Stood Still, I thought it would be the whole song at first, but it just started looping the very beginning non stop :lol

This has probably been talked about;

But how would you feel about your PS3 loading you up straight into home when you turned it on. You would have to go over to a PS3 on the ground and use it to play the game, or go to an in-game store to buy stuff.

I know it seems dumb but it could really improve the community aspect of home AND the PS3 in general.

Ugh, no thanks.

If they did that it would have to be optional. I don't personally think it would work, they should try to get it to load from the XMB a lot faster than it does already, and as others have said have the different spaces selectable from the XMB Home icon so you can start in whatever space you want.

I've thought of this before - i'd like it if the PS3 booted right up into Home, and then you could use various objects to access your PS3s features, for instance;

. PS3 console to play games
. TV remote to watch stuff from your HDD
. PC to access the store
. Stereo to listen to music
. Work desk to view images
. Filing Cabinet to change settings

Obviousley, you'd still be able to access and use every function normally by brining up the XMB, because I doubt most would want to use it, but it'd be a nice feature for those that do (although i'd really need to loading/streaming times improved - and also maybe a feature to automatically background download gamespaces and updates while i'm watching a movie or somthing, and in general the whole service would need to be FAR more integrated.)

uh,no. Only die hard Home fans want that. I like Home but its far from great and it will never replace the XMB for me and most ppls. Plus Home takes so long to boot so again,no.

Great idea.

In fact, what they should do is represent all the games you own as characters in HOME, like say Solid Snake for MGS4, and in order to play you have to go find them in the HOME world. It would be like a game before the game, and other players could help you find them. I think that would really help foster that sense of community.

Uuuh... I think that would foster the sense of "Fuck this, I'll read a book instead".

Except Snake would pop up out of nowhere, CQC you and run off again. You'd never get to play MGS4.
