Yeah, I really enjoyed it. It remind me of tunnel B1 for PS1 in style. I finished it and enjoy the upgrade feature. I saw your name on the leader board (Bloody_Marcel sp). Gratz

wait, u finished all of it already or the first 5 levels? I'm at level 13 or so and it's getting really tough with bosses, shield generators and stuff. I guess I need to loot some upgrade points in the previous levels before attempting to proceed.

No just the demo (first 5 yea).

Isn't the PixelJunk Shooter space supposed to go live today? I guess that isn't happening.

It did go live. There's JACKSHIT to do there (like the main hub).

Go BEHIND the store from the main Pixeljunk space on the world map. Boom, Shooter space to download.

So, I've finally logged on Home since beta and wondering if there is a gaf club on Home or something like that.

Clubs are beyond worthless. Very few people can be in the club, only the owner can decorate and leave messages. Nothing to do.

Not to mention that in two weeks they're going to be $5/month.

Wait...what?

So, say you have a clubhouse, how can you opt out? I don't want to get stuck with that shit.

Does this mean that the PJS items also went live?

If you don't pay the $5/month the club goes bye-bye, basically.

I don't know the exact details. I just know they planned for it to be pay-for-by-month at the end of the first beta year. And if that's true, it's going to suck for the people that use the (useless) club function.

Does this mean that the PJS items also went live?

AFAIK, yes. I've heard reports that it's "no," but I don't own Shooter so I can't say. All I can say is check for yourself. The Space is bland as hell, but I guess it rewards you items if you've played Shooter?

If they are going to be 5/month in two weeks, that better come along with a huge revamp/upgrade to clubs themselves. They'll probably make a few bucks off of people who don't realize they're paying for it. :lol

I dont think its auto renew.

Also, they could easily add streamable music/video to clubs exclusively and lots of people would pitch in for one.

Those leaked pictures of a stage with disco floors and light systems and laser lights in a club could well indicate where they are thinking of taking them.

Really what they need is unlimited membership clubs with instanced rooms like every other space. Then you could have say a FF13 fanclub with a club of their own to share and hang out and decorate. Allow a number of officers with decoration abilities and there you are.

AndyD said:

It's not auto-renew. I can tell you that. But it's going to be a set date from the first month you pay from then on. Don't pay it, the club will be deleted (AFAIK).

It should state it in the terms when you create the club. That after this year, it's going pay-for.

I have them. The shooter space looks cool, but it's tiny and there's nothing to do there (that I could find anyway).

On the subject of the Pixel Junk room, that statue of the giant in the Monsters section is pretty cool. I wish there was some way to get it. Same thing with the artwork they showed on the televisions, it would be really cool if I could walk up to them and download the artwork as a wallpaper or something.

played around in the JPN home square earlier
soooo much more festive looking!
but i thought there were supposed to be snow
and i didn't see anything that was supposed to be handing out freebies either :<

Wow Home is really packed lately. I was cruising around and decided to visit the lounge and it had at least 30 people in it. I've always thought of the lunge as a bit of a ghost town ever since the early days. :lol

Well onto level 5 of SodiumOne.

This new Sodium hub is really quite good, I'm liking the game that comes with it and after completing the first 5 levels I think i'm going to purchase the full game. Should be getting a £20 PSN at xmas time so I will probably wait till then. I also won the Audi apartment which is a nice freebie although I don;t really use them.

I bought the salt shooter game. I'm up to lvl 28 I think. I've gotten way more mileage out of it than a lot of 10 euro psn games I've bought. :D

It strikes a nice balance between simplicity and depth, and there are loads of different upgrades. It has my seal of approval!

Damn 28? I'm stuck at the boss fight @ lvl 20. :/

Any suggestion aside the usual "collect upgrade points in earlier levels and come back later"? Do you recall what your configuration was?

Keep your anti-missile countermeasures at a high level and when the boss fires a bunch of missiles, dodge them by holding down boost and doing a zigzag motion.

I might've been using either anti-tank weapons or plasma cannons. Slower weapons that heat up a lot in either case. Hope that helps.

How do you stomp the scorpions ? I ran over them and only got splattered on the screen. Didn't kill any of them.

I think u can only stomp the small ones unless you buy the brick shoes.

You have to take them from behind. You can only stomp the yellow ones unless you buy the stomping shoes.

Unless you have the concreate shoes (which I don't know WHERE THE FUCK THOSE ARE), AVOID the Red ones. You can't stomp them.

Blue-Can do, but it's terrible at hit detection.
Yellow-Eaisest and able to do with any shoes.

Run BEHIND them and quickly hit them from behind with your feet. The hit-detection is shit and other players may steal your kills. Getting 50 of them in one "session" (basically not leaving the area) takes an hour or two because of this. *sigh*

You need to purchase those from the vending machine.

I finally checked the new Home minigames (Audi, Gravity Crash, Sodium, the new one from Redbull) and they are great. Recently a ton of game based spaces has been added (SFIV, Tekken 6, Uncharted 2, etc) and there are a lot of new freebies.

I think Home is starting to be really good. Now I only miss features like to have a TV to share with friends some videos stored in your HD in your personal space, posters to do the same with your images, and that trophy room showed when it was announced.

I think to add pets like dogs or cats would be great, and a feature to take a picture of your face using the PS Eye and put it in your avatar (it would choose automatically the closest configuration using the current avatar editor).

I got the 1000 scorpion achievement a while ago and haven't touched the scorpion pit since. It's not a matter of hit detection in most cases; if somebody else is standing anywhere near a scorpion, the scorpion become "tagged" and immune to stomping. And you don't have to hit them dead center from the back, a 45 degree angle works fine too.

I don't quite understand what I'm supposed to do. There's a robot in there who is asking me to register. When I go to register, it gives a URL http://www.sodiumone.com/, but when I go there all I see is an "Under Maintenance" graphic. It's been like this for the last few hours.

Has anyone gone there and seen something other than "Under Maintenance"? Better yet, why didn't they set it up to simply have the registration take place within Home itself, instead of requiring someone to go over to their PC and type in a URL just to get to a Web site that apparently doesn't even work?

patsu said:
You need to register at the website (e.g., from a PC) using the given 3, 4-letter code when you talk to Vickie.

Yeah, I tried that, but yesterday for several hours it only had a large graphic with the words "Under Maintenance" with nothing to click on. It looked like a placeholder Web site that was "Under Construction" or "Coming Soon". I even checked the source code just to be sure I wasn't missing hidden links or something.

Anyway, now the Sodium One Web site looks like it's "working", but when I click the "Register" link, I am presented with the following message:

Unfortunately registration to the website has been disabled.

We are aiming to have this functionality back online sometime in the new year. Apologies for an inconvenience this may cause.

So now I can't even register at all. I've heard there's supposedly a great game in here, but I won't be able to find out for possibly a few weeks.

Again, it's a mystery why they even bothered to set up registration this way, requiring you to go to the Web on your PC. It should all be self-contained within the Home environment. It defeats the purpose of having an "immersive" experience in Home, if you have to go to the Web in the "real world" to do stuff...and then the site they're sending you to doesn't function anyway!

I don't think you need to register To play the game, or even buy the full game. My Sodium criteria for rewards never updated with 'you've registered!' and yet I've been playing the game. Honestly it's not very confusing. Does it not let you play the stripped down version of Salt Shooter in the Sodium space? Do you not have the 'Sal Shooter' game in your personal spaces? All you need to do to unlock everything past level 5 is buy the jacket from the purchase booth.

Well, the US event on Home for New Years is shitty. You only get a hat when your PS3 hits Midnight in the Central Plaza. :|

I thought you were supposed to get a shirt too. I got one, but when I try to put it on I get a weird, glitched out shirt that says "Not Found".

Ah missed those free items since I was at a REAL New Years party btw. Its dumb that they werent given out on Jan 1st all day long instead for a few hours but this is typical NA Home bullshit. The event managers have their heads so far up their ass, they cant do anything right and are being put to shame by the JPN/EU Home communities. I cant believe in Japan Home, they had a better Xmas support. Since when does JPN beat NA in anything Xmas related? Oh wait Home NA sucks dick.

Irem carnival space from Japan now in US Home.

Now I can have a Kimono and be a cross dresser! :lol

And LBP game launching. That is long overdue. I wonder how detailed it will be though.

Also a wizard's tower type space? With dragons flying around outside for only 2.99.

Also, anyone have a list of items from the Irem space?

Off the top of my head:

Yukata (free) from the vendor near where you start.
Mask (free) [that isn't that good] from mask vendor
Yakinori (or something like that) food item ornament (free)
Takinori (or something like that, I'm forgetting the names) food item ornament (free)
Shooting gallery prizes if you knock them off (you can retry as many times as you like, should be easy once you figure out the spot to blow them off quickly) all free. One's a chair (L-block) others are ornaments [like Gen from Hammerin' Hero])
Balloon from vendor (free)

And some other free item I'm forgetting off the top of my head.

Paid Yukata's, masks, glasses, feet in store in back of the festival. I'd pay for the White/Blue Yukata top + "Wave Blue" or whatever that is white/blue but in a wave pattern bottom Yukata drop. But for $4 and being part of the problem with Home... yeah, no.

I've resolved to get free Home items and never pay a dime for anything on Home, so I don't get some cool Home items like the laser light show
.
