I guess they'll be taking out the SIXAXIS this time?
Sony, if you totally rip off Miiverse but include video sharing, I promise to buy your system because that sounds rad. Bonus points for updating avatars into something not hideous.
They already had a sort of de-evolved version of Mii-verse on the Vita, where every game has activities your friends do in the live area, and you can comment and like posts. So it could happen.
Then the right stick is not in the natural position either. Any way you put them, SOMETHING is not going to be in the natural position. I can't believe anybody has a problem either way, but I guess that's just me.

Miiverse with Sackboys and Sackgirls please.
I'd like to see concave sticks like this:

Hmm.. I'm all for the touchpad, but it looks like this system will cost at least $500
Knowing Sony, that Share button and all those features will probably up to the developer...so of course the developer will ignore it/restrict it, so the Share button will be more or less useless.
/sigh
So um Duelshock 4 basically. Sigh...I really wish Sony would just truly redesign the damn controller. Oh well I've lived with it for 3 generations now I'm sure a can a forth assuming that's my choice next gen.
I'm only going with one other console next gen to go with my WII U.

I think the top one will be close; with a touchpad+share button and non of that hot/cold filament nonsense or oled (LOL)
It's similar in size. It could very much be a different form factor. I'm actually expecting something a bit flatter and tablet-like than the typical handle design since it has a touch pad. Maybe something closer to the Vita than the traditional game controller.
The only thing from the Vita I want on the DS4 is the Dpad but larger. If it is remotely laid out like the Vita I am out. The vita has about the worst ergonomics of any device I have ever used. I love my Vita but it is a pain to have to use grips to play any game that involves the sticks and top buttons.
I was fucking right!!!!!

I hope they make the DS4 with the ability to swap the left thumbstick and dpad. Make it modular so that those of us who don't want symmetrical thumbsticks don't have to suffer.
I play zero multi-platform games on the PS3 because I prefer the 360 controller.
From my experience modular controller have a lot of bugs and just are not worth it.
Here's my symmetrical stick version with Vita d-pad.

That's disappointing. I've never experienced one before but it just seems like a potential solution that could please everyone. However, I see how anything additional functionality presents new problems and ability to break.
What are the odds of them releasing different models with different thumbstick orientations?
Lol?
Not sure what this is about
As a vita and ps3 owner.
All this news means if I ever get a ps 4 it will be for a few exclusives only years after launch.
The back touch pad on the vita is awful in terms of concept, ergonomics, and in execution. A totally negative feature of the system.
Also really the awful tiny dual shock with its basically useless triggers and loose fucked up insanely convex sticks? No thanks X a million.
Such bummer news
All this sharing stuff is ok, but it just seems like something to distract people from the fact that the game software itself is not getting enough focus on ANY platform.
The PS4 hardware will continually record the most recent 15 minutes of onscreen action (with no processing penalty, claims our source), which users will then be able to edit and broadcast via the Internet.
So Sony's "innovation" is adding a physical button to a feature both consoles will have?
Really with the technology and features being so similar between the two why do we need two machines here?

They haven't said anything about the triggers. Those are make or break for me at this point. I won't buy a PS4 with the same triggers. I can live with the analog sticks though.
