PS4 | Killzone Shadow Fall - Shadow Marshal Tactical Combat Tutorial (new gameplay)

Impressive. I truly think this could finally be the 'Halo' level FPS Sony have wanted it to be all these years. In an age of 3 hour SP campaigns in FPSs having a 10+ hour story driven campaign harks back to some of my favorite games of all time.

After their "every Killzone mercenary level is about 45 minutes long" BS I'm not going to believe them about a 10 hour campaign in this. I hope it's true but it's probably not.

Game looks so good. Biggest surprise for me.

Can anyone repost a .gif please that I saw a while ago? I think it was from an environment on the Helghast side of the wall. It looked glorious.

Despite the fact that I cannot play shooters on consoles for shit, I'm very happy that I have Killzone coming as my bundle.

Man, that was awesome. Really excited to load this up as my first next gen game.

RIP Watch_Dogs though....you were the chosen one!

The thing I don't understand is why some of you have been worried about this? Seriously ask yourselves if it makes sense that A.I. would be worse than Killzone 2 and 3, which have some of the bet best FPS A.I.? I'd be more inclined to think that people were playing on easy...

Killzone SF is much more open affair than any game in the original trilogy. It's combat areas are not the narrow corridoors and small arenas of K2/3. It's enough to make me consider if the AI made a smooth transition.

Also, wouldn't it be in GG's best interest to showcase great AI? It's a disservice if they're showing everything in easy mode.

Will the shield be stationary or mobile? I'm not too sure that if the player moves back the shield will move accordingly or if the player advances the shield will move further ahead to keep defending. I think it'd be cool if the shield followed the players line of sight, but others may feel that that's cheap.

Most likely the former. At least, I hope the shield is stationary. Mobile would be pretty cheap, as you said.

I'm speechless, seriously. WOW

This definitely seems like the most complete launch title out of the next-gen consoles, but I feel like its efforts are disregarded because "It's Killzone."

I can't wait! It's been forever since I was hyped for a fps.

And finally a developer that respects the single player gamer. These days we have somehow accepted 5 hour shit campaigns like they are a given.

I see open levels , well thought and innovating mechanics and killer visuals.

It seems to be the most complete package in the genre right now.

There's going to be a lot more filler then previous KZ games though; larger areas to move around, heavier focus on stealth, more character moments etc.

love the design direction. very cool. particularly the zipline traversal. just hope there's enough open levels that properly take advantage of the range of mechanics - i've only properly seen the forest and that skyscraper with hostages on different floors

not saying they're trying to mislead us, obviously they don't want to spoil the game, just i hope it's the case.

Well said.

They need to show this game off at it's best. The A.I makes me really sour, and I only try to keep my mouth shut because I'm aware of how the AI used to be in Killzone 2.

The transition to a more open world concerns me. Corridor shooting in KZ2 was great because the A.I was able to make better use of the surroundings. In Shadow Fall, I've just seen enemies standing around. They need to show off more

Looks superb. The array of combat options at your disposal is going to make this the most enjoyable FPS to play in quite some time, I think.

Honestly, I will end up spending a lot of time stopping and just looking at the game.

WOW. WOW. The texture quality, the motion blur, the particles, THAT FOG/MIST. Insane visuals, and about the ONLY genuine fault I could give it is texture pop-in.

Man, we are in for such a treat come next week.

Loving the open areas and range of options available. Adds a ton of replay value for me. And, of course, it looks utterly gorgeous.

All those buildings are on a cut off raised platform.

Guess it's an unfortunate perspective thing that makes it look super weird.

Anyway, game looks bonkers. Not sure I like that health thing though.
Hopefully hard mode cancels automatic regen and all you're left with are health packs.

Looks great but the HUD font is way too thin!

Do we have any info on if Vita has independent UIs for Remote Play?

If it doesn't you won't be able to read shit!

WOW!!!! The building architecture completely blew me away! Loving it!

Also, the game does seem extremely well thought out. Hoping that it turns out to be the best in the series!

Color me impressed. This looks strikingly good despite it being on youtube. Hell I saw a difference between SP graphics and MP graphics despite the latter being a high bitrate direct feed video.

Wow.. Creating such a world from scratch is so admireable. From the vity, the buildings, the clothing, guns, etc, etc. Great art direction and looks really clean. Textures will look sharper than this youtube compressed quality ofcourse.
Gameplay looks like fun. Great that we can choose how to deal with the level however we want.

Anyone noticed the WTF building?

Brilliant looking game. Looks like it's gonna be good, though those adrenaline packs seem a bit OP on top of regenerating health and the other tools you have at your disposal.

The most suprising news is that you can cary only 2 adrenaline packs, and that they are responsible for reviving when you are out of health.

Good thing.

Yeah. With SF they're giving the player ample methods of defeating enemies in varied ways, it seems overpowering if the AI can't provide a legitimate challenge.

There are some pretty neat ideas in this game, very impressive video. Would be my first Killzone, but unless impressions/reviews turn me away I'm looking forward to giving it a go.

7:33 when he falls down and is right up close to the plants/grass! O.O

Man, that is insanely good. Gamersdye needs to get their hands on this and go to work lol.

Loved the way the guard on the right at 6:00 doesn't have a direct line of sight and heads to higher ground to flank you. One guy attacks from the side while the other charges you head on because you aren't looking.

EDIT:
Also, looks like you have a sniping companion during the encounter at 8:05. Wonder if it's echo.

Brilliant looking game. Looks like it's gonna be good, though those adrenaline packs seem a bit OP on top of regenerating health and the other tools you have at your disposal.

There are only 2 packs you could carry. So I'm pretty sure they would be difficult to get hold of in hard mode.

Game looks great. I still think the Tactical Echo has too much range but I probably just won't use it much. I really hope the missions are as open as they're making them out to be.
