PS4 Pro boxes getting prepped

Downloading saves from the cloud is a pain in the ass because you have to do it game by game

You do? I was just backing up my saves yesterday and I thought I saw that you could press the options button when looking at all the saves in the cloud and select something that says "select multiple applications" st least something along those lines. I may be remembering super wrong so forgive me if I have :)

oh really? It's been awhile I'll have to try it again

Anyone else with a 2TB HDD in their PS4 unsure of what to do?

Is there a point in transferring anything if I don't mind reinstalling/downloading games? Aren't all game saves in the cloud anyway?
I currently use a 2TB hdd which I'm replacing with the 2TB FireCuda when the Pro is delivered.

I'm not transferring everything due to how long it'll take to do so. I'm deleting games down to about 750GB as I don't mind waiting a couple of hours for everything to transfer, i'll then just download the other games as I'm using the Pro. It's far quicker doing to this way for me in comparison to downloading a single game that's around 50GBs.

It's handy as I'll essentially just be turning on what is a mirror of the original PS4 when I've completed the transfer.

This seems like the appropriate approach.

Why does direct ethernet take so long?

Don't be an ass. Someone is going to buy that console off of Amazon, so if they don't notice, you screw another customer over.

Don't quite understand how I'm being an ass. I'm trading a newer, more energy efficient, less noisy PS4 that should be worth more money. If I ordered a pre-owned launch unit and got one of these instead, I'd be happy as can be. It makes no sense Amazon is offering more for them

i bought a 2 TB HDD for my PS4 a while back. Can i put it in my PS4 Pro and and take out the 1TB the ps4pro has and start using it right away? or do i have to format the HDD ?

looking at the PS4pro, is there even an easy way to get the HDD out? switching the HDD in the old ps4 was so easy.

Hard drives are always formatted since they are tied to the system.

If I've got a big enough portable hard drive can I copy everything from the old ps4 onto it?

Cos I thought it only copies the saves and some other stuff. I want to copy patches and everything. Can I do it?

Yes as long as it fits on your external you're fine. I'm backing up my 2tb to a 500gb external
Do you have several profiles on your 2TB? I have a 500gb that I'm transferring to and I want to make sure I get the 3 foreign profiles on there with the games I have attached to them.

Target 10% wishlist coupon works on Pro preorders for $40 off

Great heads up. Just placed an order and with red card it came out to $365.07 (or about $60 less than my Amazon preorder which will be cancelled). Assuming I can sell my launch machine for $200 or so, the cost for the upgrade is now very easy to swallow.

Thanks!

Hi Guys. I am due to get a PS4 Pro (already Pre-ordered) because my current console will not turn on or restart with out some effort. Here is a video of me explaining my problem. Obviously if I can avoid buying a new console that would be nice, has anyone else had this issue before and fixed it?

All my games are physical and all my saves are in the cloud storage. I am just taking the videos I have recorded and the photos on a USB stick. I have a huge number of games I haven't played in months so they will be deleted when I swap the drives.

If I bought a 2TB hard drive, installed it on my current ps4 and installed the firmware via usb like you have to for every new hdd you install on a ps4, the question is do I have to redownload and reinstall the firmware to the 2TB HDD again when switching it to the pro? Or is this for new ps4 HDDs only? I know it's going to be reformatted, it's the firmware part I don't know.
