Yup same. Samsung T3 SSD 250gb - seems like it's a bit random, there are people in this thread with this exact drive who don't seem to be having an issue.

With updates, I've noticed it sometimes will reset the % to zero but the total amount needed to download will have gone down. Are you sure this isn't what it did and that it actually started over?

I only got this error when connecting my external drive to the rear USB on the Pro. I do no have this issue when connecting the external drive to the front USB ports. Apparently the rear USB powers off or something when you put the PS4 in rest mode.
 
You guys having the drive errors do you have USB set to always ON?

I have my SSD on the rear port on my Pro zero issues. USB set to always ON. I have posted this earlier i hope more see it.

it might be the enclosures some are using I've seen issue with a few enclosures. One i had didn't work good with my Xbox one so i use it on my Wii U but this one here works good with everything I've used it on.

I'm using an externally powered dock right now and haven't had the issue with bad shutdowns, getting unpowered enclosure tomorrow. If problem pops up I'll switch to a powered enclosure.

That second one (sabrent) is the exact model I got for my pro, using it with a sandisk 250 ssd. Not having errors. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My USB is always on, and it's in the back port as well.
 
Glad I read this thread, as I was going to post about USB drive issues on rest mode.

Hopefully it will get fixed soon, in the interim, is powering down the console and not using rest mode preferred?
 
I doubt this glitch is causing any damage to the drive. It's definitely annoying though. I've never experienced this issue on my Pro. Using WD My Passport 2TB

that's good it works fine with my Wii U but it didn't play nice with my Xbox One's

How have you set your power options on rest mode? does your drive ever power down?

Mine just seems to stay powered regardless of what the USB power options are set too.

Has been bullet-proof so far. Not a single issue with rest or power off mode. Plugged in back. Stays lit in rest mode though as it downloads updates obviously.

3 hours.

If I'm not mistaken, unless something is downloading to the drive it will power off after 3 hours.

I'm surprised to see this sentiment shared by so many. What do you use the notifications system for that it's such an issue? I'm usually interested in only the last handful of notifications, which are easier to get to now without having to think about what category they belong to. There's also an implicit "new" badge on ones I haven't seen before without having to manually clear them out periodically. It works better for me, but obviously not for everyone.

So what do you use them for that's such a hassle now?

Have to say I'm with you. Read the new notification and the number goes away as intended. People seem to be making more of a fuss about that than the features we received. I don't get it.
 
I have a 4TB Seagate external powered by USB only, plugged into the front port of a Pro.

In features available in Rest Mode I have Supply Power to USB set to off. Stay Connected to the Internet, Enable Turning on from Network, and Keep Application Suspended set to on.

I've had no problems at all with using Rest Mode. The drive powers down correctly, and powers up automatically if it decides to download something in rest.

If you're having the issue perhaps try setting your USB power setting to off.

I guess it's not widespread, just a settings conflict.

I just noticed my settings were set to always on. I wondered why the HDD never powered off. I'll find out in the morning I guess. Thanks for the tip.
 
Anyone else having controller lag issues since the last update? I got a PS4 pro last month, so it might be that. though it's been fine until this weekend. maybe the new controller that came with it, or the update??
 
They killed remote play unless your on the same network or using a vita.
Man I liked using that on my phone whilst I was all to shift a few extra vitas when they couldn't be arsed with developing for it

I am having the same issue. My browser just slows to a crawl. After that os ui tends to slow down a lot for a few minutes. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

remote play has been crap forever even on a local network is that fixed?
 
I have a 4 TB Mypassport and am not getting the rest bug.

The worst thing that happened to me was I had to unplug my Pro when it wouldn't wake up from rest one time during the beta. It went through a 10 minute diagnostic but luckily the drive was fine.

If you have added an external drive that uses power from the usb port, that's probably why.

Maybe the people with the error on boot from rest mode are running drives that take a bit to start up, so system doesn't think it's connected when it starts?
 
Honestly I don't mind it. I just treat it like my email archives and leave it alone. Once I see the notification the counter is cleared and I don't worry about it anymore.
 
My Pro just turned itself off and flashed white light yesterday, when I was taking items from the vault in Let It Die. It turned on normally after a while, when I held the power button down, and there was no error notification whatsoever. This is something that's never happened for me before. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
 
Since update 4.5, I can't see screenshots I shared via Twitter in my activity feed (nor friends of mine). For Youtube videos, it still works as before. I already checked the activity settings in my privacy settings.

Anyone else recognized that as well?

local gigabit network even using PS4 and Pro Destiny thru remote play is unplayable lag fest. I'm one of those assholes that paid 150 a piece for my PSTV's and remote play has never worked good it's always been laggy. Main game i want to use it for remotely is Destiny and it's always been terrible. Especially using a DS4 which you have to use in that game.

and my connection speed is 150Mbps down 50Mbps up.

Nighthawk router everything is top notch.
