PS5 - New Demon Souls Screenshots

Is there a game with better graphics than Demon's Souls? The best looking game is due for release exclusively on PS5 this year.

Console war season. Everything flies. You got the best looking next-gen game out there..... envy comes with the territory.

Saying next gen excludes games like Cyberpunk. This is the best looking game overall.

Don't support this game folks.

Emphasizing visuals over new interesting gameplay mechanics is bad for the industry. It's shallow design used to prey on the weak willed.

This is not a drill. Graphically impressive turds literally hold the industry back. They are a cancer.
- Demon's Souls
- Unoriginal, uninteresting gameplay mechanics

You have to up your game a bit my man, this is not the Youtube comment section.

Tower of Latria is going to be one hell of a ride judging by the gameplay snippets. I'm very excited to see Bluepoints version of the Mindflayer. They are, imo, the scariest enemies in the game and will absolutely wreck you if you're not careful.

Latria is also home to the most interesting NPC in the game, with the most interesting quest. Will be a doozy for new players to figure that one out.

Gears 5 looks better lol. Still looking forward to the game. Once the pc version releases we'll get ultrawide which will look fantastic. I wonder how the rumored ps4 version will run? 🤔

What's up with people on Twitter continuing to downplay this game and calling it a remaster rather than a remake?

Who cares?

I think I'll just call it a remaster to annoy people who care too much about this stuff.

I can't believe people on Twitter would downplay a video game by kind of, but not really, calling it the wrong thing.

This remaster looks really good.

Nah.

New console. New generation.
People expect graphical improvements, especially in the launch window.

Just think of it as a bit of a tech demo if you want. Not every single game needs to be an evolution of the entire medium. This looks good and hopefully plays well and also shows off what the new console can do.

It looks like an impressive remaster of a classic game. Perfect as a launch title.

Can always use that hint/guide thingy in the ui!

Damn, just realized(super obvious), this will be the first time in a while where I can't preload a game I'm buying. Gotta wait to bring it all home, plug it in and download it before I can get stomped by red eye knight.

And just like that a tear formed as I realized this is the first time I have not had a Souls game pre-installed since 2014.

How hard is this game going to be? I played Sekiro and got so frustrated I sold my copy. I REALLY want to get this game because it looks incredible, but I am worried it's too much for me.

If DS remake stays true to the original, you can get a really powerful weapon early in the game. If you want to make the game easy, use a Dragon Mirdan Hammer.

Easier than Sekiro in lots of ways. A lot more variety in builds so you can play how you prefer, ability to pull in other people to help you, option to grind out some levels to improve your chances and even ways to cheese your way through some bits :D

It will be easier. Quality of animations and graphical fidelity will help a ton for player reaction and recognitation to enemy attacks. At least on normal enemies with simple attacks. Bosses however, those will wreck no matter what.... there is no escaping that torture. That footage we got made it very clear.

Lol gears 5 isn't even best looking current gen game . Let alone next gen .maybe if u only own xbox then sure but even then rdr2 and forza looks better graphically.

And u r not getting a pc or ps4 version of DS but u knew that already seeing how active u r online .

Maybe it has nothing to do with it but I needed to say it somewhere.

The other day I felt a dagger in my heart when I saw the video reaction of a famous youtuber (which I will not name) about the presentation of Demon's Souls Remake.

The boy during the video was hallucinating without knowing what it was, he said ... "Elder Ring?" ... and at the end of the video when the text appears on the screen he makes a surprised face and says ... "A new souls? Is it any continuation of Dark Souls? "...

How come people don't know about Demon's Souls? I didn't know that there were people who could think that Dark Souls was the first game and that it was totally original.

It was as if my heart was ripped out, such blasphemy. :messenger_face_screaming: :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I'm glad to hear that it should be easier than Sekiro. I loved Sekiro but after over 40 hours play I barely made it half way through the game (it was my first Souls type game).

At the moment this is the only game I really care about for the PS5 launch and I was worried that I may find it too difficult and end up with nothing to really play on my new console.

If the bosses are too tough I will summon help!

I'm a huge Souls fan and I don't like Sekiro very much. They play very differently. Sekiro is really a fast-paced character action action game grafted onto a Souls-like level and progression structure. I wouldn't worry about the difficulty of actual Souls games, none of them are actually very hard if you play methodically. Just get in the zone and you're good. There's no frantic time pressure like in Sekiro.

Have u actually played gears 5? Easily still the best looking game and runs at 60fps on potato hardware.
Iv seen rumors of pc and ps4. Iv seen box arr covers from major retailers. Its happening maybe not day one.

Whatever helps u sleep at night bud. But in my opinion gears 5 is nowhere near the top. And no demon souls is not coming to pc or ps4. They announced horizon coming to ps4 and thats 1 year from release. If demon souls was coming they would mention it there .

You know it the same with Witcher series. Where people have been saying thats based on the games, beeing completly oblivious to the fact that those games were based on books. :messenger_crying:

The summons make it so even if your not great at the game you can get through it. It also shows you how people who are better at ds play the game it also has the boos stains on the floor which basically tell you where traps are. Since this is a launch title I'm expecting the online community for this version to be awesome.

Aha ha ha ha. It's MUCH easier than Sekiro. I still have ptsd flashbacks about that fucker.

If you get Demon's Souls and have trouble, you can call people in to help you with it.

If there's an OT for it when it comes out, I'm sure lots of posters will be happy to oblige if you ask.

Sony isn't bringing PS5 titles to PC and if they did bring them they would be years down the line.(not worth mentioning)

PC market(700k and change Horizon ZD ONE month sales) pales to the PlayStation market( HZD PS4 over 2.6 million in about 10 days | over 10 million lifetime) and Sony knows this.

Just like Sony didn't launch a Pro model alongside PS5 like you claimed.

I'm not so sure about that. I think Sony will end up putting more games on the PC in the future. I doubt they will release them in abundance and as hastily as Microsoft.

Original easier if you grind and work on your build. You have option to make it easier but it will take time.

It had some delicious farming locations. They may tweak them in remake or remove them altogether. For me it would be borderline impossible without using them to some extent.

Sekiro is probably harder than every Souls game and Bloodborne. I cleared them all basically back-to-back. That said, I did a few NPCs summons in the Souls games, so maybe not, there's zero help in Sekiro. Where did you get up to? If you beat Genichiro, you can beat the game.

If you want to turn the DeS difficulty down a bit, roll a Royalty class character, stack the Magic stat, cast Soul Arrow until you get the Crescent Falchion from 4-1 which has A scaling from Magic. None of these words will make sense to you, but remember them.

if you made it through any of the Dark Souls games you will make it through this. and it should be easy with jolly co-operation.

Sekiro is indeed a much harder game, with more of an emphasis on combat. Demon's Souls is more RPG style, you can go off and grind, or get a magic spell, or a bow and arrow, etc. various ways to approach the game.

im looking forward to the OT. we'll be able to give tips and tricks based on the original, but will all be learning new stuff as well. old players and new players together discovering this world. gonna be nice.

Game looks fantastic. I won't be picking up a PS5 at launch until further down the line ( I can't justify two consoles and £80 games) but when I do I'll be jumping on this little beauty first.

I know you're half-joking, but it is what it is. No one is a dedicated forum-goer or goes to the web all the time for news. And not everyone games since the 80s.

I felt the same way you did when they announced a new Alone in the Dark (PS3 era) and there were comments like, 'Another Resident Evil ripoff'.

I wanted to scratch my eyes out.

eh, so someone didn't know about this early game, big deal? the mainline Dark Souls games are the ones everyone knows about. no biggie really.

Most of us knew what it was within a couple seconds. This is the best looking next gen game that will be available. Its stunning.

I would say Spider-Man gives it some competition but SM was so well done it looked amazing on PS4PRO.

I really wish Sony would buy Bluepoint. These guys always prove themselves and if anything Sony has a huge vault of games I would love to see resurrected.

How about not to tell people what they should do? :messenger_sunglasses:
We all know it's not a new game. Still it's worth every $ just for the graphics.

Ah see Sekiro is the only souls game I've really played (other than a few hours of Bloodborne).
I did enjoy the fast combat and thought I was really getting into a good rhythm with the parties and counters but some of those bosses were so bloody hard that I realized that my personal skill level meant that I'd probably have to put in over 80 hours of gameplay to actually come close to beating it and I wanted to move onto other games.

I did like the look of the combat in the Demon's Souls trailer though and I'm sure I'll enjoy the more methodical combat as well - especially if j can grind and upgrade my character to make things easier if need be.

Yeah the summons sound like a lot of fun and the online elements are really appealing to me. Hopefully I get good enough to be able to take on and defeat other invaders as well as I hear that's a thing later on in the game?

It had some delicious farming locations. They may tweak them in remake or remove them altogether. For me it would be borderline impossible without using them to some extent.

Yeah I'm aware that in most of these Souls games you can grind/farm certain areas to increase your stats/power. Hopefully they still retain some of these so that newer players like me can still make use of them, especially if the game is arguably borderline impossible for some people without them!

I'm sure Bluepoint will want to keep the game somewhat accessible for newer players while retaining the challenge of the original for the more experienced players.

Yeah I had heard that about Sekiro so I'm hopeful that my experience with that will serve me well for Demon's Souls, even if the gameplay is very different.

I really like the idea that you can create different character builds to make the game slightly easier as well. I know what I'm like though, I love me some melee combat, so I may try to avoid using too much magic for as long as possible.

No my only real souls experience is Sekiro and I think I made it about half way through based on the number of bosses that I beat.

I'm looking forward to reading other players strategies and messing with my character build. I only played a few hours of Bloodborne but I liked the sense of exploration and finding short cuts etc.

Don't support a ground-up remake from an extremely talented dev team, of the obscure first game in one of the largest game franchises there is, that shows off the power of the next generation more than any other game so far?

Jesus Christ son, did your mother have any kids that fucking lived?
