PS5 sales surge over 300% in the UK during February (compared to Feb '22) | UK Monthly Charts

PS4s didn't magically disappear from the market once the PS5 was introduced.

If people love watching the series, who game they would buy? A cheap version or an expensive one?

The sales are not saying 'PS4 users are buying the TLOUS remaster', so we can presume that both PS4 users and PS5 users are getting the remaster rather than the part 1.
The remaster is very cheap, runs 4k on PS4pro and runs via BC on PS5, so PS5 sales are probably helping the remaster more than the base PS4.

And this is why MS should be allowed to buy ActivisionBlizzard. Sony doesn't need more help tbh.

You're trying to find a niche way to scrutinize somebody for a successful product and it's not going to work. The game is selling across all platforms including the PS5 exclusive Part 1.

Thats what you get quoting the person out of context.
I was mocking the Druckman praise, not necessary the franchise.
In fact, I guess everyone with kinda of common sense would expect the sales increase after the TV series being good?
Remember Witcher series? Cyberpunk anime?
There is a patern here.

The fact Hogwarts Legacy isn't moving Xbox hardware....is telling.
I honestly don't get it...MS has a console on sale for like twice as cheap as a PS5 right now.
It's been not even 2 and half years since these consoles released.

I really think the reason why Xbox was doing bigger numbers last year was due to PS5 being unavailable everywhere. This has been mentioned more times before, and it's getting clearer now.

PS5 last big release was God of War in November. It's not like these huge numbers were due to a big recent release...

Anyway, it's clear that this year PS5 will be the big seller everywhere...and if this keeps up even winning Japan.

Anyway...moving on to my favorite part:

7The Last of Us: Part 2
14The Last of Us: Remastered (Sony)
19The Last of Us: Part 1 (Sony)

The PS4 remaster ahead of the remake isn't huge news considering the price gap...but seeing TLOU2 above both of them is incredible and something GAF must be loving as well :messenger_clapping:

TLOU2 not available on PS+ yet, that's would explain it to me.

recently been playing the last of us remastered. game is a masterpiece imo
And yet so many people didn't.

The games will probably have legs for the rest of the generation.

When award season rolls around and if it does well, it will probably get another boost for the show and that will cause a boost for the games.

When season 2 rolls around that will also probably create yet another boost. Same with Season 3 and a 3rd game.

If the show does well with award season it'll be much easier to get actors and directors of quality to do these adaptations, which will result in higher quality adaptations and more overall success and game success.

This could very well be the Iron Man moment for PlayStation.

You can tell that the game isn't selling like gangbusters on PS5 (though it's higher on the digital lists and will probably perform better in the US than the UK).

The more PS5s that sell, the more this game will have legs. You can tell that it's a bit constrained by the PS5 userbase at the moment being largely people who owned PS4s.

We'll see how the game performs on PC.

Who made the show? Who made the game based on the show?

Imagine if it was ONLY the Series X available, because we are looking at a landslide in the making.... and that is with a console that is half the price and giving out free fucking games.
it almost seems like Great Software sells hardware. A pretty revolutionary concept. this is why i am very curious about how starfield is going to perform on several metrics.

That's a weak narrative.

One game is available to 117 million console owners of which only 10 million originally purchased TLOU Remastered.

There are only 30 million console owners who can buy the PS5 remake, many of whom might be included in the original 10 million, but also almost certainly got the game for free as part of the PS+ collection.

The remake is also 70 dollars compared to 20 dollars.

Be better...

I forgot to mention if TLOU Online is a hit, that will ALSO probably cause a boost for the games.

no. it absolutely did. BUT underperforming ≠ flopping.

Part 2 underperformed by around 5 million

It should have had Ragnarok's performance.
By 5 million? Where's your report from Sony? Neil said recently that it was an extremely successful game.

How should it have God of War's numbers? Do you realize that the game has been bundled ever since November? That's almost 4 months.

Not only that, you would think with the potential of COD becoming exclusive to Xbox, Xbox sales would of increased a bit more but this just shows people prefer Playstation no matter what.

I had this conversation around when Neil said Part 2 reached 10M.

Then, Ragnarok came out and its numbers confirmed my arguments.

Part 2 should have been closer to 15 M in that time frame.

A group of people? LOL.

You guys get too touched in this regards. The game is selling well, but the remaster is really the real star here taking into consideration how old the remaster already is.

I still prefer to talk about HL. Move on.

And who leads that group of people. You're touched here... because you're creating a bs narrative.

The reality is Neil Druckmann is on fire making money for Sony right now and into the future. As the creator of the LOU, shepherd of Uncharted, and co-president of Naughty Dog, he's easily getting the highest performance review at Sony right now.

Not sure why that's hard to admit for people.

With TLOU Online coming out, that's almost assuredly going to be a hit as well. TLOUP1 doesn't even need to be a smash hit on PC for it to really help bolster revenue from the project and TLOUP2 will probably get ported within the next year or two as well.

That doesn't begin to talk about the rumor that they're working on another IP or that they're doing a Jak and Daxter movie, which would suggest some port or remaster of the IP.

Big time to be a Naughty Dog employee and much of that is the direction of Neil.

The story is known by many, but that fact after nearly 3 years it's in the top 10 should tell you it's not a shitty game.
I watch a lot of playthroughs on Twitch and Youtube...And the vast majority praised it. Most people are different than the ones who are still upset at the game nearly 3 years later.

Can always count on the D(ruckmann) Force to come in and clown it up.

It didn't confirm your argument. lol

I also said games don't reach sales that fast on PS unless they're bundled. This is something you ignored in this conversation and the last one.

I don't think the average gamer is aware of the acti acquisition process and that cod may come to gamepass if the deal goes through

I think the biggest issue is that Microsoft failed to have enough confidence that there would be sufficient demand for the $500 Xbox X, without bringing the price of entry down to $300 with the S. Clearly there are millions of people prepared to pay $500 for a new generation console, and those potential purchasers aren't going to go for a series s just because it's $200 cheaper. They know why it's cheaper. Especially when the majority of the xb x marketing seems to be focused on power, 12TF! etc.

you can try to spin all you want. and ignore the context in which the game came out.

but the reality of the situation is that Part 2 underperformed.

Now. the show having a positive impact in these games is clearly evident.

You're ignoring it again.

Do you realize that Sony counts every PlayStation bundle as a copy sold, right? How many of those 7 million units shipped in the last quarter were God of War bundles?

People (watching the show) probably want to know how the story after TLOU1 unfolds. Those poor souls they don't know what's going to hit them.

That's not how regulation works.
It shows a Microsoft monopoly fears are bull with sony going to 90-95% market share using these numbers. There is no reason to stop the sale with a 90-10 split in market share except to protect the company with 90% market share. Any other sale with this lopsided market share would go with no issue.

It's not about protecting Sony though.

I mean you might hate this but there's nothing wrong with having a market leader. If you want you can pretend that Sony is a monopoly if that makes you feel better.
