You know, saying "Xbox/GamePass is fundamentally bad" while ignoring the solid lineup it's been delivering sounds less like an opinion and more like blind brand loyalty, very common by Sony fanboys on this forum.
That's the kind of "dismissing" I was talking about, not just people who don't subscribe, but those who act like enjoying it makes you "deranged", as @DenchDeckard said.
People are well within their rights to view the service as "fundamentally bad" for whatever reason they wish, just as anyone can with any other product/service.
If it doesn't offer what people want, in the way that they want then it is what it is. It's just funny that you seem to assume it's only one group of individuals when it's evidently clear that the people who want nothing to do with it span across multiple platforms.
Epic give away free games (actually free, not "free") on a weekly basis and have done so for years - people still think Epic and their storefront are shit. You don't see anyone getting their pants in a twist like the gamepass worshippers do, even those who literally only play the games that they offer up for free.
Humble monthly/choice has existed for over 1 and a half decades now and will have seen far more customers than Gamepass ever has. Unlike gamepass, you get to actually keep those games forever regardless of your sub status. People are critical of their offerings/service all the time and you don't see those that enjoy the service behaving like used car salesmen to everyone and anyone who doesn't use it.
PS plus and it's catalogue exists and actually pre-dates gamepass (which coincidentally is funny because that's the exact reason Balatro appears on that list you posted above since it's just been added). Again, lots of people critical, lots of people say it's not worth it to them and there are no aggressive sales pitches for the service to be seen.
Microsoft and whatever services they are offering don't have a divine right to customers, regardless about how you might personally feel about what those services have to offer. Nor do you, or they, have the right to control what people think about said services.
So in summary, get over it.
