PS5 shipments top 77.8 million

You know, saying "Xbox/GamePass is fundamentally bad" while ignoring the solid lineup it's been delivering sounds less like an opinion and more like blind brand loyalty, very common by Sony fanboys on this forum.

That's the kind of "dismissing" I was talking about, not just people who don't subscribe, but those who act like enjoying it makes you "deranged", as @DenchDeckard said.

People are well within their rights to view the service as "fundamentally bad" for whatever reason they wish, just as anyone can with any other product/service.

If it doesn't offer what people want, in the way that they want then it is what it is. It's just funny that you seem to assume it's only one group of individuals when it's evidently clear that the people who want nothing to do with it span across multiple platforms.

Epic give away free games (actually free, not "free") on a weekly basis and have done so for years - people still think Epic and their storefront are shit. You don't see anyone getting their pants in a twist like the gamepass worshippers do, even those who literally only play the games that they offer up for free.

Humble monthly/choice has existed for over 1 and a half decades now and will have seen far more customers than Gamepass ever has. Unlike gamepass, you get to actually keep those games forever regardless of your sub status. People are critical of their offerings/service all the time and you don't see those that enjoy the service behaving like used car salesmen to everyone and anyone who doesn't use it.

PS plus and it's catalogue exists and actually pre-dates gamepass (which coincidentally is funny because that's the exact reason Balatro appears on that list you posted above since it's just been added). Again, lots of people critical, lots of people say it's not worth it to them and there are no aggressive sales pitches for the service to be seen.

Microsoft and whatever services they are offering don't have a divine right to customers, regardless about how you might personally feel about what those services have to offer. Nor do you, or they, have the right to control what people think about said services.

So in summary, get over it.

It's funny to see Sony fanboys criticizing or dismissing GamePass.

When Sony stops publishing on their console, might as well cash in.

Dude, I've already explained this twice, but here it goes a third time: people are free to hate the service for whatever reason, but if they play the same games elsewhere, then the library can't be that reason. That was my point. The rest is you arguing with a strawman.

You're free to ignore all the positives and keep hating Game Pass for your own reasons, that's totally fine. In the end, it's clear you've already decided to hate it no matter what.

The library can absolutely be the reason dependant on what an individual likes to play. Even beyond that, if you're going to sink hundreds of hours across multiple year in to a game like Oblivion then just purchasing it outright makes far more sense than being beholden to continuously renting it in order to have access to it. Like I said before, why an individual decides to steer away from something can be down to what it is (the games in this case), or how it's delivered (renting in this case), and sometimes it can be a combination of both.

But yes darling, people just "hate" the service for the sake of hating it and not for reasons that they've outlined or bad experiences that they might have previously had when paying for it.

In case you were wondering, my particular example falls firmly in to the "how" category. Hope you can come to terms with that.

It's wild that this thread turned into a GamePass thread.

The news that PS5 has hit such a high number is a huge positive for the console industry and with more and more games coming to it, plus some big releases in the coming months, the trajectory is looking good.

I mean in fairness - 3 of those 10 are also on PS+.
It's more interesting that non + games are charting - unlike on that other console.

But especially notable is the charting of a Remaster of a game that's been critically panned, bombed when it released, and already has normal version on + but not available to upgrade if you have the + version. I mean... c'mon now.
