PSN, Battlenet, Riot, and others DDOSed; PSN returning lightly toasted with butter

No, they are in fact not very well protected servers against ddos attacks.

I can't log into xbox live now.

Also, i saw someone post that Fame guys age... did someone start posting his personal info somewhere?

It's all fake and confusing. Fake info, fake/real/other ddoses, fake "hacking", fake bomb scares.

Take everything with a pinch of salt.

So I downloaded Last of Us from PSN the other day and I noticed that I can't play it...(It gets stuck at a screen that says "Please Wait"). Am I stuck waiting until PSN is back online? :/

So defensive. I'm not saying everything that guy says is true, but what I do know is, is the fact that PSN has been brought down for at least an entire day. What does that say about the servers?

Where did I say Sony was hacked? I have been following the news the entire day.

It says it's being hammered by a million simultaneous connections at once overloading the service preventing anyone from accessing the service.

You know, the definition of what a Distributed Denial of Service attack.

To break it down in laymen terms.

It's like trying to converge a five lane highway packed with cars into two smaller lanes things slow down to a complete halt. Nothing moves, no one is going anywhere.

In the case of a DDoS, it's someone intentionally generating a massive amount of internet traffic all at once for the intention of preventing anyone from getting access.

Having "better" security does not prevent this. Having more servers to the point that not all of them are hit at once is a different matter.

unplug your ethernet cable or disconnect wireless. This allowed me to play my free copy of infamous second son. Just got my ps4 a week ago too. ugh.

If you are trying to play single player. Go over to settings, network, and uncheck the box. It worked for my digital games

There is a long loading screen the first time you start it. After waiting a few minutes a percentage should show up in place of the "Please Wait..."

Just disconnect from the internet in network settings and you should be able to play dude. Works for me, I'm playing Hotline Miami right now (provides the perfect soundtrack while reading this thread)

This needs to be in the OP.

Eh.....there are ways, appliances etc. to fight and defend against ddos attacks, but whatever.

Gotta love them anti-DDoS toasters.

Anyone having a problem where you can't move around the PS4 ui? It loads up to the home screen and I see my list of games but can't move around the menu.

Just wanna group with some friends for some Diablo, is that too much to ask?

Stupid LizardSquad/FamedGod/anyotheridiottryingtotakecredit

Top of page: DDoS doesnt mean hacked.

Is Microsoft being hit with the same DDOS attack now?

Wait, you actually believe that kid?

Or just maybe the guy is full of shit and making it up. He's not some master hacker. Fame said XBL was next. Then Lizard tweeted asking if anyone was having login issues. Who knows who's really doing it.

Are you sure Famed is actually the one doing this? Really sure?

Cause everything I've seen about him makes me doubt it.

Why doubt him? These people crave attention so if it's not him then he's really on point taking credit for everything with exposing the Lizards and then making his video on YT and everything. If it's not him or he's not involved at all then you'd think the person actually doing it would step up and do the same thing Fame did to the Lizards.

People, me included, have noticed some slow downs and disconnects on XBL but for the post part it's up and running as usual. Are we supposed to be naive enough to think it's just a coincidence and not just a failed attempt at the same thing when the guy said he was going to try? Why would MS be left alone when a bunch of other companies in the industry are getting hit by it?
