PSN connection problems (12/24)

And, of course, Sony is quiet on the matter. What is wrong with them? Sony doesn't keep an open line wi h their customers in these issues. They just shut up and leave us in the dark.

Remember when this happened to Xbox Live and we got a free, albeit shitty, game in compensation? I hardly expect anything if the like from Sony, let alone even an acknowledgment that they are having issues (though it is commonplace for Sony these days).
 
Still can't connect on psn. Here in washington dc. But it's cool to see people able to get on as I watch twitch. Would love to play destiny though. I wonder how long this ddos attack can last
 
The first couple times i may not blame sony. But how many times has the happened now? Its their fault for not putting some measures in place to stop this quicker or mitigate it.
 
Apparantly my ps+ ran out today?? I tjought it was good until January :/. Also I cant see any of my messages and cant get into the store :(

at what point does it stop being sony's responsibility to secure their network, assuming this is an attack? I haven't had that many problems in 8 years xbox live as I've had in half a year PSN. how many times did it breakdown already, 3 or 4 times? jesus christ.

Was playing Destiny last night from 10;30pm to 12:30 am eastern time

Was able to play destiny this morning, tons of people on

Long island/Ny/East coast region

(though usually there is 50 people online at all times from my friends list, only 25 this morning, but you know, Christmas)

Christmas is actually the one time of year I would expect something like this.
 
Damn,cant play Dragon Age because I have the little pre-order DLC,the flame weapons so it cant load my save...so dumb.

Still no one claiming? May or may not be Lizard 2.0, but this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to anyone.

That's not to say that it isn't shit, but it's not something that we can control. Just hang back, try connecting every now and then and eventually the whole thing will unfuck itself.
 
Sony needs to get psn up to par, doesn't seem like they get enough flak for this type of stuff. People opening up new consoles today will have all sorts of issues with psn down.

All they need to do is get more servers. Not many companies would have a shit load of servers they don't need. It would end up losing them money, Sony can't afford that. MS are are a different case.
 
I should've expected this but I was too excited to wake up early and hop online with my friends. We hardly ever have time to play together anymore and all were able to make some time for it today. I feel bad for the kids who got a PS4 this morning and wanted to hop in. This just blows.

It's ok guys. I just got the PSN is down for "maintenance" message while trying to log into Destiny. I mean don't we all do "Maintenance" on every holiday?
 
I was able to sign in ( had to manually sign in) and play gta v online

But the lobby I was in was empty, had like 10 people online though on my friends list

I have been trying to log in and it has been giving me the same maintenance errors that came up earlier in the thread. And the only thing I'm trying to play is FFXIV.

Edit: Netflix works just fine, but I cannot connect to the PSN server still.

Didnt try that but it probably wont load my save since its not the same without the weapons...I could start a new game I guess but the hell with that...I am going to try unplugging my ethernet cable though and see.
 
just turned on my PS4, same as last night; everything is loading properly. ppl are on games on my friends list also. some aren't though as well.

doubt its a ddos attack as much as a rush of ppl hitting the network as once. basically the same effect though regardless.

fake edit: the What's New section is the only thing not working for me ATM.

It sometimes allows me to sign-in, but I keep getting errors to play my digital purchases and getting on 2K's servers. I try to go to "Restore Licenses" in the Settings and it also gives me an error. It's been doing this to me since yesterday at 5:30 PM.

Yup, same for me. Tried to access online to see how the snow looked, but can't enter.
Quite strange I must say, I am online but not according to GTA. Can see friends list and trophies but not play online...
