Starting February 26 and throughout the month of March, we’ll be offering you the chance to get $10 back for EVERY $50 you spend using your SEN Wallet! This means that if you spent $100 you’d receive $20 back at the end in April. Everything from games, movies and TV shows — anything that accepts SEN Wallet funds — is fair game. If you were thinking of subscribing to PlayStation Plus, now’s a great time to do it. Grab the 1-year membership for $49.99 to get the most of your PSN experience, plus a little extra cash back.

Why would I spend anything on PSN now knowing that nothing is backwards compatible with the PS4?

So you can play it on PS3?

In any case, this makes a mighty good argument for purchasing Plus since it has a 3 free months offer right now.

Assuming you currently own a PS3, it's conceivable that you would still own one when the PS4 comes out. AFAIK everything will still work on your PS3 as it has always done.

Edit: Beaten, and in more blunt terms.

My sub is up in a month. So I'm going to grab those free three months before the offer expires. Also $10 back isn't bad. The game lineup is meh. Not getting MLB on PS3. Already have Bioshock paid off on PC.

To play it, as already stated.

Are you selling off your PS3?

Yeah... Sony kinda closed the door on PSN purchases for me with that announcement. I'd be more inclined to bite now if the games were much cheaper.

Still though, I like that they run these deals and think it goes a long way to attracting potential buyers lookin to get a return.

Because PS3s don't magically erode away as soon as you part with your cash for a PS4.
A lot of us were hoping to trade in our PS3's towards a PS4.

GS usually does a great trade in deal when a new system comes in but we cant unless we want all our shit gone. It's why im not buying PS4 at launch.

The 15 months of PS+ is valid till March 4th or something like that, right?
Great time for me to resubscribe

It's March 4th.

My sub is up in 22 days. So I'm only getting 2 out of the 3 months. I'm not complaining though.. $10 from the loyalty email, 2 free months of PS+ and now $10 back for spending $50.

Nice initiative, but there isn't $50 worth of content I really want from the PS Store in March. I'm saving up for Soul Sacrifice.

Well I was kinda hoping the 1 year plus would get a discount by being sold for $40, and then this happens XP.

Will grab 1 year+3 months Plus sub. tomorrow along with other games that would interest me~

PS+ subs just tack on at the end, they don't replace the current sub. If you have 22 days left and bought a year of ps+ before march 4th, you would have 15 months + 22 days left.

Yeah. That much is true I guess. If I were to guess, GS will give you about $100 for your PS3 in that situation.

Honestly. If I didn't own a Vita. I wouldn't re-up my PS+ sub. The PS4 is out this year, and I don't see much PSN content, outside of new retail releases that are worth it.

Thanks for the info.

I'll re-up today :)

Why would I spend anything on PSN now knowing that nothing is backwards compatible with the PS4?

Not to mention the fact that spending money on PSN is foolish in the wake of all the PS+ freebies they give out. I've completely stopped purchasing anything on PSN except my subscription.

They sure do when you trade them in or sell them in order to buy the new console.

PS3s erode away when you sell them? The more you know. Why would anybody buy one in the first place?

I'd prefer the PS4 to be sold at a reasonable price, rather than have another "$599" fiasco where production costs shoot right up because of BC inclusion.

Yep. If it's not discounted or a new release I don't buy it. I'm still waiting on New Little King's Story (Vita) to go on sale. I refuse to buy it otherwise.

Beware. PS+ 12 months membership is 49.99$, so you have to buy something else with it.

Yeah that 1-cent will get you.

Im kind of surprised at the reluctance to buy digital goods when the next console wont have BC. Although I guess I shouldnt be.. I wonder if Sony announced too early and its going to hurt not only their PSN market but their console sales in general?

I might get the Atelier game if it is $49.99 again. I got $10 for free last week from Sony. With another $10 rebate, the game will effectively be $30.

Oh, it's $10 back for every $50 this time, nice. Looks like I'm waiting a few days to pick up this week's sales. :)

Promotion starts today.

I'll be buying a lot of Vita stuff, so that'll all qualify. I will admit, I'm less inclined to buy digital stuff day-one after hearing about the BC on PS4. Hopefully, there'll be some sort of program with the eventual Gaikai that lets you play your past purchases.

It must suck to sell products to an audience that plans to keep them in the shelf forever.

If you're not going to play the game you're buying now, don't freaking buy it.

As someone who will still keep a PS3 when 4 comes out, this doesn't bother me.

But if I'm reading it right, a year of PSN+ counts toward this? I was planning on renewing the sub anyways.

^Correct! Buy 1 year of Plus get $10, then buy anything off US PSN that amounts to $50 and get ANOTHER $10 back~

Fuck my lazy eyes for not seeing that. doesn't sound too bad lol.

Hmm, well, I did it last time (the $100 promo) and didn't regret it. Looks like I'll be doing it again this time. Now the trick will be figuring out what I want to buy.

I wish JAW would hurry up and get Munch HD Vita out, I'd totally bite on that. I know I want to double-dip on Stranger's Wrath and get it for Vita (already have it on PS3). Tough to say what else I want to snag though.

I guess people really like trading in their old systems, but I'm sticking with my OG phat for as long as that sucker turns on. Buying a PS4 means my PS3 can become a permanent blu-ray player in my bedroom and of course, my 50+ PSN games will remain on system as well.

For those who will be trading away their PS3 for a PS4, I'd keep my PS3 games if I were you. There is a huge chance Sony will offer disc-validation for Gaikai streaming.

Edit - Does anyone know if getting PS+ will work with this promo? Because if so, it will continue my love story with PS+, which I've had multiple times for more than a year total, but never bought it yet.

10 back for every 50 you spend. That's different. Usually only applies for the first 50.

I wish SCEE would do these - i'd make so much back in credit, lol.
