PSN News And Announcements: 2012 Edition

Huh, The Drop was put up yet there was no mention of Unchained Blades despite Xseed saying it was slated for this week.

... SCEA's decided to not even bother mentioning PSP games anymore, haven't they? :/

¿Que? What's a PSP?

I'll make sure it gets some love in the Store Update post this week. As of the last schedule I have, it was on there to be released tomorrow.

It's not like it's going to run on the Vita or anything.

Alright, good to know for sure though I'm planning to wait on impressions first, thanks.
Bodes well for their ability to get it on Vita in a timely manner!
At this point I'm hoping they update compatibility faster and more frequently rather than any game being there day one.

Don't most TVs support both PAL and NTSC these days? My dad's 12 year old PAL CRT supported NTSC signals just fine.

Most PAL CRT's post like 1995 have supported NTSC but I don't think the reverse is true (though obviously all HDTV's should). From what I've heard, NA PS3's don't run PAL PS1 games at all, regardless of whether the TV they're connected to supports it or not.

... Wouldn't it have been possible to fix this? It's being upscaled by the PS3, I'm sure they have a means to convert PAL to NTSC/HD internally at the least, even if the frame rate is still inferior. Failing that, it IS a PSP compatible game there, right? So make it PSP (then Vita) exclusive here.

This I could believe if we could download games to the PS2, but for the PS3 it sounds like bullshit.

EDIT: Let's take this further actually. Who has successfully gotten games from Europe and run them on an NTSC/HD TV? Or played them on an HDTV in Europe without using a PAL signal?

Wasn't sure where else to post this, but does anyone know if Sony is publishing Papo y Yo, or if it's a Pub Fund title, or... what?

Machinarium has been ESRB rated for Vita as well as PS3:

Hopefully this is a sign the game is not far off release, though it could also mean it will get released in 2015 when both versions are ready. :P
Just noticed today that Machinarium made it into the walled garden of Amazon's Android App Store before it made it onto the PS3. What the...?

This is getting to be like my Pac-man CE quest...

According to Might and Delight's twitter, Pid is coming in september. Has this been announced for PSN/PS3? Really looking forward to this game. It looks stunning from the little footage i've watched (don't want to spoil too much).
