PSN Welcome Back Program Available Now - UPDATED Details Inside

Well, picked up Fury (already owned HD), LBP, R&C and Dead Nation using my AU and US accounts. Might get the PSP games as well for an eventual PSVita purchase. Which two of those would GAF suggest? I have a JP account as well, so hopefully that package is similarly appealing. Crossing my fingers for Malicious. All in all a pretty good haul for a month without a service I didn't use that much.

Already own all the free PS3 Welcome Back games for North America... added LBP and inFAMOUS to my profile so I can have 'em on my system at some point instead of needing the discs.

Added Killzone: Liberation and Modnation Racers to my PSP backlog (already owned LBP PSP as well)... but not terribly excited about either.

Sitting on activating my PlayStation Plus month until something better comes along. Anything that's going away on the 7th isn't anything I'll miss.

So my first real find of the Welcome Back package is the movie Hitch. It's absolutely delightful.
Perfect Will Smith romantic comedy vehicle... and I haven't been interested in anything he's been attached to in years.

Huh. So, when the hell did Sony decide to region lock PSN stores?

I get a (translation) "You can't access this from your country/region" error message whenever I try to access the Japanese PSN store from my Japanese PS3 (I'm in the US).

That sure would suck if this lasts. I've made a lot of purchases from the Japanese PSN store.

...Japan PSN is still DOWN. Maybe research a bit before throwing FUD out, please?

DL'ed Wipeout and Super Stardust - never played either. I'm a huge F-Zero fan and I've always wanted to play a Wipeout game and now I can. :)

UK user here, I can't get the PSP promotion to appear on the PS3 or via Media Go, I've went to the services list on my PS3 and only the PS3 games promotion is there, no PSP promotion at all, anyway to make it reappear?

I know it is, but the thing is, when I tried to access it multiple times over the last few weeks (just to check), I only got the "currently undergoing maintenance" message. This is the first time I've seen the region lock message.

That happens due to maintenance. I've gotten it on the US store before WAAAAAY before PSN ever went down. It happens. It's basically a new 800 error for you.

Check the PSP section of the store. Or check your "services" in account management.

Happened to me too, I had to get the PSP promotion off the PSP store itself.

Like I said in my post, I already checked the services list.

Can EU users only access the PSP promotion via a PSP or can you download the games from the PS3 store?

ahh thanks mate, that answers my question.

I so smart. Using my alternate account to activate PS+ now. Then come July I'll activate my main account. So I'll get PS+ content for 60 days :)

Alright! Nothing beats getting free shit. Even the way it rolls off the tongue is awesome.

Free shit.

I thought it would be a more painful process due to the hordes of hungry people clogging the servers, but in reality all it took was a few errors and then I was golden. Currently downloading Infamous and Wipeout HD+Fury.

To anybody having trouble resetting their password for a PSN account that they haven't logged in to for a while, go to http://qriocity.com. You can click 'forgot password' and they will email you a link that actually works to change it, unlike the link you get emailed when you try to do it on your PS3.

Well, already had a problem. First off I simply can't get into the store via PS3. Keeps erring out.

I could however get in via Media Go, so I figured I'd grab my 2 PSP games in the meantime. Well I got one downloaded, and now it no longer lists anything in the Welcome Back section. I've sent an email to consumer service.

Use your PSP. For some reason UK, Euro, and AUS PSN only has PS3 promo on the PS3.

Another quick question. If you get something free off PS+,your membership lapses and then you reactivate it, is all the free shit from before still available?

PS: Dead Nation is fucking awesome.

Yes.

Yes it is but I can't imagine playing it on a TV smaller than my current 50".

Anyone know if you can download more games if you have a UK and US account?
Nice to see people still aren't reading the OP.

So I downloaded the coupon or voucher for my first free PS3 game and was suddenly booted from the store with an error message. I logged back in and now there is no option to download....

Edit: I'll try the suggestion in the OP.

I'm very disappointed with the welcome back experience so far.

I think Sony should have waited a little more before they launched this program. I've gotten nothing but countless errors, insanely slow download speeds, and glitches like my free game disappearing and having to do the workaround.

Once again dealing with Sony's online services feels like amature hour.

It was going to happen anyway no matter when they release it.

Well, it was bound to be a bumpy ride, considering the millions of people trying to get their free stuff at the same time. If anything, I'm surprised PSN is still going without imploding and swallowing all of us into a vortex of nothing.

I redeemed my PSN+ card a day before the Welcome Back program.

Is the additional 30 days automatically applied to PSN+ members? I don't see an option to download it in the Store.

Oh yes. Everyone on PSN and facebook seems to ask me questions regarding this. I feel like a Sony rep or something.

No, you don't get anything.

Uh, what? I thought existing PSN+ users got extra days too.

Actually it said in the US blog that anyone who bought PS+ since the store came back would get an extra 30 days also.

Oh really? My apologies then, I didn't know this. I thought they said that was restricted to people who didn't have Plus at all.

It was in the comments by the new guy, not in the actual blog post.

Marketing Mode *on: You can get a year of Plus for $49.99 (that’s just over $4/month) or get a 3 month subscription for $17.99. Don’t forget that the Welcome Back package gives you 30 days of Plus as well, but any subscription you purchase during that time will be stacked automatically as well. Marketing Mode *off

Oh shit I just realized I still had that EU account haha! Looks like I don't have to decide between Stardust and Deadnation anymore. WOOOO! Thaaaank you sony!

Hey guys, should I go for Modnation or LBP on PSP?

I've watched videos and read reviews and I'm hopelessly stuck on a decision.

Help me GAF, you're my only hope.

Is there anywhere you can buy a PSN Card and have them e-mail the code to you instead of the actual card? For some reason my credit card just doesn't want to work on PSN right now.

Just remembered the Indian account I created for the Killzone 3 pre-beta. Password recovery worked and now I'm downloading Quest for Booty and Dead Nation. No PSP games, but I got what I wanted out of those. If I do the PSN+ trial on there will Burnout Paradise still play on my main account? Never had a problem with the KZ3 pre-beta but that wasn't a product that needed activation or anything.

Still can't use Media Go. First, I can't log in due to needing to change my password, now I can't except the EULA :/

Damn, even at this time (3am EST, 12am pacific) the U.S. store is still swamped. It took me a few tries for the store to open and I got all sorts of errors until I was finally able to download what I wanted.

My plus subscription screwed me over .. Because i had played the infamous trial with my plis subscribtion, i could not get the game for free. It just registrered as a trial, and expired when the time was up. No matter how many times i tried downloading it, it Would not show up on my download list. So i tried one of the other games, ratchet quest for booty. Now Im stuck with dead nation and ratchet.

But i really want infamous.. I just remembered i had an old uk account. But unfortunatly the email adress cannot be accesed anymore, because the site is gone. I remember my email adress and login.. So does anyone know if I can contact sony Uk to help me..? In the faqs they say you can contact them if you do not have acces to the mail anymore. So does anyone have an email adress to contact them..?
