I'd say (and have been saying) it's almost a foregone conclusion. This isn't the first time that Sony has used this interface - it showed up in the PSX first. Kutaragi has expressed intent previously to continue using the XMB interface in future products. For the PS3 not to be at least as feature rich as a portable device SCE released more than a year before it would be a tremendous misstep.Oni Jazar said:How kickass (and easy) would it be for Sony to implement this kind of browser into the PS3? With RSS, Keyboard and mouse support, Wifi, using the 2Gig Pro Duo stick as a HD. That would really be a big step in taking over the living room. A device that does HD movies, games and true internet browsing would be a trifecta.
Yeah, something's fishy there...TTP said:How come those are soo much cheaper? O_O

There's a homebrew app that does that (doesn't require RSS though, I don't think), assuming you still have a 1.5 PSP.Forsete said:Is it possible to stream your .MP3 collection over WiFi via RSS? What kind of software do I need?

But you could accomplish something similar in conjunction with firmware 2.6 if you set up a web server on your PC that has your music collection and then generated an RSS file for that collection.

I don't know if that is old, sorry if so, but I've never been able to access GAF previously. Shit, now I can get a quick late night GAF fix before bed.Man, the PSP suddenly gained so much more usefulness for me today, heh.
Anyway, yeah Wollan, here are a few (and btw, if you come to this thread from the PSP browser that GameSpot XML will work, at least it did for me):
1UP's podcast:
http://www.1up.com/flat/Podcasts/podcasts.xml
PC Gamer's podcast (really good, laid back yet reletively professional, and good developer interviews each episode):
http://feed.pcgamerpodcast.com/
Major Nelson's podcast (one of the heads of the Xbox.com/Live side of things, he does come off very PR-ish, but a nice guy, and certainly worth listening to. [I won his contest before, too!]):
http://feeds.feedburner.com/MajorNelsonblogcast
Cheap Ass Gamer's podcast (if you're a CAG it's worth a listen. Cheapy D seems like a really cool guy):
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/podcast/cagcast.xml
This Week in Tech (very good if you're into technology and the sort):
http://leo.am/podcasts/twit
Diggnation (drunken wrap up of the top news stories on Digg.com):
http://revision3.com/diggnation/feed/high.mp3.xml
Cinecast (intelligent, critical film talk):

Just jump in this thread from your PSP and you can save all of them in one clean swoop.
*edit: added a few more

Not much to do, really. There are a number of web servers you could install on a PC, and you could build the RSS file in a text editor. Ideally, would be nice to have an automated tool to build that RSS file based on specifying the path to your music library, but that's also a routine you could probably write in minutes using a number of exisiting programs. The DIY version in this case doesn't seem too difficult to put together.hooo said:I'm sure it won't be too long till someone sets up something or finds some software that already does exactly that.
jipe said:Yes. Personally I'm not really sure whether 20% extra capacity is worth $60, especially when external battery packs can be had much cheaper.
Apharmd Battler said:WOW!! Thanks for those links. I'm new to the whole RSS scene, but now I'm going to be all into it thanks to the links provided at GAF.

I was hoping to play both PSP games and emulated games, but since Sony decided to force users to decide between one or the other with their mandatory firmware updates on games, I'll choose emus and ignore UMD software. There's no way the PSP's library is ever going to compare to the libraries of virtually every console up to the 16-bit era.
