newsguy said:Alright, I'm back from EB where I picked up THUG 2. After firing it up, the first thing I noticed was that the free skate stage is the warehouse from TH 2 (my favorite game in the series). I was playing THUG 1 on my XBOX in high def yesterday and I couldn't help but notice how nice the character models look on the PSP. they're bigger than I thought, and the stages are big. the downside to all of this is that Activision has a deal on the console version this week and it's 29.99!! I couldn't help but feel like an ass when I paid 20 more dollars for the PSP version, but then again, to get all of that content and 4 more stages on the go is priceless. Well, if there's any specifics you guys wanna know, post them and I'll see if I can find them.

Minotauro said:What are the controls like? How is revert mapped? How do you get off your board and walk around? Does the create-a-skater option have a lot of depth? Does it support face mapping for instance? What's the soundtrack like? The same as the console one? Is it as fast as the console game? Ifso, does this make it tough to play?

Dsal said:That's true. But there will still be a lot of people out there who don't want to spring that kind of cash for a handheld game, even if it's pretty much as good.
Zelda-Bitch said:exactly. The bulk of my gaming is done *not* on the go. So paying $50 for a port of an ok game I can get for $20 cheaper on a console AND play on a much larger screen (with a more comfortable control set up mind you) is crazy. Maybe it's just me though. Meh.
Zelda-Bitch said:relax mr. sensitive. I like the psp. I think the prices are a little much though. :lol

Kung Fu Jedi said:It's one of the games I'm thinking strongly of picking up for launch. Some times I think the game looks great and other times it kinda looks shitty. I'm sorta waiting to see how the reviews come out on it.
Oh yeah, and random dungeons are generally a red flag for me, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
newsguy said:The controls feel similar to the DC controls to tony hawk 2, but you can do things like get off the board now. Revert says L or R when coming down from a jump. To get off your board you hit L. create a skater does have face mapping (pic). Soundtrack, according to IGN (I never played the console THUG 2) is all there. It's definitely as fast as THUG 1 so I'm sure you'll find it's fast, but you still have full control. here are the menu screen and face mapping (that's NOT my face, it's the default face in the game).

If it was playable online, it would probably be a must-buy for me...however, from what I've read, it isn't.Am I the only one who is REALLY looking forward to play Untold Legends?
KidOmega said:Nintendo's iron grip on hand held gaing is not over, they just sold over 600,000 DS's in Europe, and when Gameboy Evolution comes to the market, Sony won't be bragging about the PSP's pretty graphics anymore. If I want to play games with good graphics, I play them on my console at home. Big TV, more comfortable controls. I'm looking at spending $250, plus money on games and accessories like memory sticks. PSP is a black hole for money, and even though I can afford it, I won't let mine get sucked in. I'll play my games on the PS2 and GC, and leave my portable gaming needs to Nintendo.
I just think the price is exploitative to consumers, especially when Nintendo can put out good hardware at an affordable price.
Dr. Zoidberg said:Infrastructure mode does not necessarily mean Internet-enabled. It simply means that all PSPs playing the game attach to a common access point instead of directly to each other. The internet might not even be involved.
EDIT - Maybe they're including this information for eventual tunneling use? It doesn't sound like it's an Internet multiplay game but the manual does say it "requires" an account with an ISP. Who knows?
