The PSP is proving to be quite the versatile machine. Not only have hackers been able to access websites, but now the portable can allow gamers to talk via IRC chat rooms. PSPIRC.com is offering a free script that provide PSP owners with such a feature.

In order to use the IRC feature, you'll need to have Wipeout Pure's web browser. Using the built-in virtual keyboard interface, users will be able to easily communicate on IRC. No doubt there will be more hacks and other features used with the PSP in the coming months.

I'm curious about how well their makeshift keyboard interface can possibly work. The screens show pretty drawn-out conversations, so it must be halfway decent...

P910 owned.

How can you hold that? I mean you'd think the PSP side would be heavier so while your typing at the keys the system will slide back until it falls on the ground and breaks. (assuming you are playing it while sitting). How would you use it while standing at an airport?

Slightly OT: If you're having trouble using the Wipeout browser and keep getting to that big "coming soon" jpeg, try logging on from a different ISP - my ISP cached the pic, so the redirect was being ignored. Or you can fuck around with your router to force the refresh to whichever site your using.

Also, I assume the PSP has built in hardware/firmware usb keyboard drivers. Anyone tried it? I don't have a keyboard with a female USB connector to try it.

Are these like huge lecure halls? Just seems like a weird thing to do in the middle of class.

I think I would have failed out of college if I did that, but I imagine your time in lectures is a lot more fun than mine.

Nope, it's a class of about thirty. I only play in that one class though, and only because it's a remedial Math class that I have to take for my degree. Why I get sent back down to "Math for Life" after I pass Trig is beyond me.
