PSPSOne Demo Test Release

PacManFan has released his highly anticipated PS1 emulator test demo. He writes that it is hard-coded to run the pdx-dlcm.psx, and has included other demos as well.

“It runs at about .5 fps @ 222mhz, The emulation is really slow at this point, I'm still working on getting my recompiler to function properly (or at all). Once the recompiler is working, I expect to see a huge jump in performance. After that, I'll replace the GPU software rendering with the GE calls to hardware blit 2d triangles.

You know, if they could target this emulator to work perfectly with Castlevania SOTN, I'd be a happy man.

This is the only PSone game I ever play anyways.

Forget about this crap.

LDCHen and the crew behind the FPSECE PS1 emulator on Pocket PC is porting their Emu to PSP.

With FPSECE many games were very playable on faster Pocket PCs.

The PSP and PS1 are in the same family of CPUs. A PS1 emulator written from the ground up could definitely work on PSP. If this guy is just porting an existing emulator then he's probably just wasting his time.

No. It runs at 0.5fps, which means it will run just fine (albeit with a few slowdowns) on PSP2. :lol

There's only one thing I want out of this.

SUPER PUZZLE FIGHTER II TURBO RUNNING AT 25-30fps.

Then I will be happy.

psp is quite capable of emulating the ps1 at full speed, you just a need a pro to do it from scratch..not a port. Like what the bleem guys did on DC.

I highly seriously doubt we'll ever achieve 100% speed for a PSOne emulator on PSP. You can just forget about it right now.

Like Marconelly just mentioned, do a search for FPSECE.

You have to keep in mind that there are a lot of documents for developing apps on the PPC. whereas we are still developing tools for the PSP. A lot of things still have to be done like accessing the GPU/APU of the PSP, the emulators that are out right now(including this demo) is mostly run by the CPU.
