Didn't realize Kingdom of Paradise was out. Got Legend of Heroes, and I'm enjoying it, even though the translation job was sloppy as fuck. The smily faces hovering over people you can talk to is a bit odd at first, but you begin to ignore it. The whole "!!" over someone who you need to talk to part is kind of nice though.
Battles are pretty speedy. Not Dragon Quest speed, but not slow as fuck. The little load times have been bugging me a bit, but on the other hand, I've only been playing SNES games for the past month, so my perspective is a bit off.

I've been playing X-men Legends II on the PSP. Between the "fixed" graphics and the extra stuff, I'm thinking this is the "definitive" version of the game. I'm very impressed.

I agree with that. It's only a RPG in a loose sense, but it's my favorite on the system.

Bah, have had to restart just so I can fight random encounters just so I can get my lvl high enough to TRAIN the first named fighter you come across without dying each time.

This game had better improve!

Heh. I think that I'm starting to feel that way too. I bought Xmen Legends 2 for the Xbox. After having watched my brother and a couple of friends playing the game on PSP, I'm feeling like I bought the wrong version.

IGN gave Legend of Heroes a 5.5 but so far I've been enjoying it, I'm a little scared to find out just how bad it gets though :<

It's a bit smaller on screen obviously, and the controls are slightly rougher, but you get more characters and side missions as well. I don't know, this game bored me on console this time but I absolutely love it on PSP.

Why do people complain about the name of this game, when it's the direct translation of a name that the series has had for 20 or so years in Japan?

Actually, "Tenchi no Mon" means "Gate of Heaven and Earth." "Kingdom of Paradise," as I said on another topic, sounds like they were going to name it "Kingdom of Heaven" then had to change it when the movie came out and refused for whatever reason to take more than 5 seconds to come up with a new name..
