No, but people like to post EB Games top sellers every week as well and those never translate to NPD's numbers or rankings.

But being that this next week is larger than any two months of Amazon's sales non-holiday, it does have a slight bit more significance.

I meant overall. There's the regular DS, the electric blue and the two colors of Nintendog's bundles as well, iirc.

In all honesty, this shouldn't surprise anyone. Hell, the original Xbox sold like, what, 110,000 in it's first week? Of course it was all downhill from there, but I expect the 360 to follow the exact same route.

It'll be near impossible for the PS2, PSP and even the DS to match HW sales like that in a week, because it just isn't feasible to compare against a launch.

Depending on 360 shortages maybe (is there such a thing in Japan? *rimshot*), but I certainly wouldn't use the term 'probably'. Christmas isn't the same in Japan, it's much busier at retail in early January (if I remember correctly), so I think it could be a toss up.

It all depends on when the current popular systems out now begin pushing over 100K weekly in Japan. Could be a week after or even that week.

I still think probably is the right word to use, but I won't deny the possibility of being wrong as well.

360 comes out on a Saturday, so that's two days on sale for the X360 versus ... seven days on sale for DS (which imho has the best chance to outsell it) including four days with Mario Kart DS. Imho DS will probably outsell X360 if Microsoft doesn't ship alot (150k+) consoles.

Changed for alternate viewpoint. Although, personally, other than Fire Emblem: PoR, handhelds have had my favorite games this year.

Also, atm, Mario Party 7 is above the PSP.
