PSP -- USB Charger, and Aibo control

Sony PSP can control your Aibo
Looks like the Aibo may be, unintentionally, the PSP’s new best friend. Apparently, the Japanese version of the PlayStation Portable can communicate with the infamous robotic dog — pressing combinations of buttons on the PSP will cause the Aibo to do various tricks, without resorting to any crazy hackery whatsoever. Either this is an unannounced or unintentional feature, or perhaps even robotic dogs can teach themselves some new tricks.

DIY usb psp charger
this sunday we bring you a DIY PSP USB charger. Say you don’t drive, but have a car charger laying around that is 5V and will satisfy the PSP’s power needs. you should take that charger and hack the end off and replace it with a male usb cable. this way you can charge pretty much anywhere you might find a usb port. especially handy if you’re going to be in a computer lab or you’re at a friend’s house and the PSP dies after hours of metal gear acid. it’s a fairly simple hack, but a very useful one.

really? Hmm... i might going see what the Aibo makes of it...

... although i'll have to charge the little fecker first.

.... every self respecting Sony fanboy should have one!

.... hold on, wait a minute...!!!

Saw these last night. The AIBO article links to a site that requires registration (no signon on BMN), and the car charger hasn't been tested, though it should work.

i wonder what the IR port on the PSP is going to be used for. i tried beaming data from my Clie and of course the PSP didn't recognize it. It would be nice to beam files back and forth for backup purposes.
