PSP USB connection type?

Can anyone with a PSP tell me how the USB connection works. Does it need any drivers when connecting it to a PC?

If it doesn't, it's possible that I can connect it as a regular USB device to my Iriver and use it as a 20 gig portable temporary space... as well as a pass-through for getting pictures off my old small 16 meg MS... because the PSP at least reads old Memory Sticks too, right?

Mini usb on PSP, big size on PC. You set USB connection manually on PSP. First time you do that the PC recognises it and installs the drivers, setting it up as mass storage (it appears as a removable drive)

Its the wrong way round to use with other Mass storage devices. Its like you can't connect two irivers together. You need a host.

Unless Sony put in host functionality then I doubt any hacks will change that. Any connectivity to PS2 for example rely on the PS2 being the host. This is needed in PS2 anyway to work with digicams/printers etc.

But the IHP-320 IS a host. It's supposed to work with other USB devices. But of course, if the PSP needs to be installed, it won't work anyway.

I believe the US version of the H320 doesn't support USB OTG, only the JAP one. I think i heard sth. like that on the iRiver boards, but i might be wrong.

It's the same with the Clies. The PC recognizes them the first time, but still you still need to run a program on the Clie to initiate the connection.
