PSP video help????

OK, this is driving me nuts. I have read all the posts in the other PSP video conversion thread. But I am having a problem with my PSP just recognizing the files. I am using some vids that some guy posted and a video that I assume works.

1) OK, so I open the card in my card reader on my laptop, then I see the PSP folder. At the same level as that folder I created another folder called "MP_ROOT". It looks just as I typed it.

2) Then inside that folder I created another one called "100MNV01".

3) OK then in there I took the one matrix video and I moved it into that last folder and then named the one video file M4V00001.MP4, and the other file M4V00001.THM. I have tried it in my PSP with no luck.

I have put music in the music folder and that plays great. But this video thing is killing me. What am I missing or doing wrong, please help me find my mistake. Thanks.

Quick answer, and if it doesn't work, please ask your follow up in that thread.

First, don't assume the video works. Try Marty's last ones he posted - I've tested and they all work. The filename thing sounds right, as does the structure - the key is that both MP_ROOT and PSP are folders at the top level of the memory card.

Thanks man you really do rock. Thanks for the confirmation. The only reason I made a new topic is because I have been working on this shit all night long and I wanted an answer. But I just tried the link for the new files the Marty made and the link is dead. Shit now what to do?????

did you actually put .mp4, and .THM in the titles. That ,might be why, just name both files M4V00001
Do we actually have to put in the .thm files in the directory? I just put in one of marty's .mp4 movies(renaming of course) in and it plays.

I just tried what you said and just erased the extension name, and then the file type of the .THM file changes to a URL:file protocol.

Still no luck. I really do not understand this shit at all. Why will it not work??

I wish I could help but I have no PSP to play with. All I can do is figure out how to encode. We really should keep this in the other thread though so if someone else has the problem, they could fix it too based on whatever we find the solution to be.
