PSP vs. DS - One Year From Now

Well the DS/GBA technically already have this functionality directly from Nintendo via Play Yan.

Ya well my cell phone also "technically" has video playback. I have the GBA movie player from lik-sang and it kinda sucks to have to translate. I'm not sure if the PS2 first or third party software is any good.

Apple should really make a nice videoscreen Ipod where you can just drop any format video or at least major formats (not just quicktime). That would kill the PSP right then and there.

People, especially on this forum, analyze their 'predictions' far too often. Sit back and enjoy your games.

Be happy you have anything to play at all, some people are still playing N64 and PSX. And guess what? They are having fun.

As long as you've got some fun games to play and companies are still making profit, stop worrying about who's number 1. It doesn't matter in the end. You'll buy the machine that has the games that YOU want.

That machine happens to be the DS.

It's going to be fun to see Nintendo kick the collective asses of their competition with technically inferior hardware ONCE AGAIN in the handheld market. What a wonderful statement. The TRUTH is => that gameplay is why we play games, and not just because of a pretty screen.

Psp is clearly the better handheld but I just dont see an audience for it. The userbase they built with ps1 and 2 is not the same kind of following nintendo has. I cant imagine someone buying it for a child, especially at that price.

I think this is the post I'm in most agreement in this whole thread. I really can't see an 11 or 12 year old kid use a machine like the PSP without having it break :P I'm extremely impressed with Lumines and Wipeout, but as of right now, the DS has a more interesting lineup of announced games. But this can change in a heartbeat... I'm just glad I own both :D
