Psychedelic games

I'd like to get some really trippy video games full of psychedelic imagery and visuals.
What other trippy games are out there beside obvious stuff like Rez and Katamary Damacy?

It just so happens that I'm working on a 'trippy' game. I think I can show something within the next two months. Can I make a post on GAF by then?

Revenge of the Mutant Camels! (I know there was a copy on Amiga, perhaps Commodore as well?)
I wish Unity was still going ahead :(

Rez, obviously.

Eternal Darkness with it's insanity effects can be trippy.

I'm sure there is more, like there was a Tempest clone made for the PC wasn't there?
You could actually just do a search for anything Jeff Minter and give it a try :lol

Haha - most of Minter's C64 games were really trippy. I'm glad Ocean's Frankie goes to Hollywood's been mentioned. Unlike the Speccy rev, the C64 game has a bug which prevents the player from 100% completion. (freezes at 98% if I recall correctly)

Nope, the C64 version can be completed. You can check this thread at the Lemon64 forums for screenshots of the end sequence.

Another good psychadelic game is Spheres of Chaos. Try the demo.

Actually, Tempest X3 is a better psychedelic catalyst than Tempest 2000. Way more colorful and dynamic effects. Not to mention it's the better game, but.. No, I didn't mention that, did I?

Morrowind.

You can laugh all you want, but I couldn't stand it where you constantly have to walk around (which takes ages) and you have to find stuff you really can't find! Combine that with this real weird ambient music (intro music is real nice though) and I'm getting all dizzy. In other words, psychedelic. I'm telling you.

And of course, those damn NPCs walking all over the place that say "WHAT IS IT OUTLANDER" all the time when the only thing you do is walk past them. Even at a moderate distance!

True... to bad maybe six people in the world (myself included) have ever played the game.

EDIT: Sorry, I though you were talking about Tempest 3000 for the Nuon.

i always considered the original Marble Madness to be a bit trippy....
if not completely terrifying.
......game scares the crap outta me.

On a good display, the Jaguar version looks better. 65,000 color shading versus the nasty dithering on the PSOne. 'Trippy' mode on the X3 is something else, though.

I won't get into the gameplay differences.
