I remember seeing a music video contest a few months ago where they had a list of public domain films you could splice footage from. Neat idea. But, I don't know anymore big ones, Night of the Living Dead was the one that entered my mind when I saw the thread.

Night of the Living Dead and Dementia 13 are probably two of the biggest. Other popular ones include White Zombie and many other Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff flicks (The Ape, The Bat, etc). Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price is another one. Many early Charlie Chaplin and Marx Brothers films also.. Little Shop of Horrors with Jack Nicholson.... the most popular public domain cartoon would probably be Fleischer Supermans...

umm that is all off the top of my head. there are many more though.. don't know where you would exactly look for the stuff.

I never thought of these as being in the public domain- that's pretty neat. Thanks for the link Demi, I love that flick.

So basically, many of the films you can find on DVD for $1.
