The official trailer for Pure Pwnage: Teh Movie has been released.

Some background for those unfamiliar with the name... Pure Pwnage was an old web series revolving around the adventures of Jeremy, his best friends Doug and Dave (it's really Dawei), his brother Kyle (the cameraman), and others as the show went on. The series went on hiatus and was eventually turned into a short-lived TV series in Canada. In 2012, they launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund the creation of this movie. The movie is set to premier in Toronto on January 26, 2016.

I'm hyped for it. The trailer looks good and it looks like it has a lot of what made the old series fun!

Holy unexpected nostalgia! I had no idea these guys were still putting together content. I watched every episode of their show back in high school, I hope this movie has the same spirit of their old show

I never understood why this was popular and I certainly don't see the humor in it now. It reminds me of that "Us gamers!" comic about Portal.

pre-youtube era internet was a crazy place.

they also live in Toronto and I've met with the crew numerous times so there's that /bias

the change to MOBAs from mainly RTSs makes me sad

also this is weird since I just thought of the series the other day, also Dave the best

also odd they basically showed the ending?

Wow this is weird. I was so sure they stopped making stuff and wouldn't come back. I remember watching PP in late middle school/early high school I think? Seems really dumb when I look back on it, and I can't say I'm really interested in this.

What ever happened to those exclusive backer livestreams and behind the scenes backers were promised? did they just not bother with them and just twitch everything?

Man, I don't know if Pure Pwnage works anymore in the modern era of video games, but I'm glad this is happening, if nothing else but as a celebration of what once was.

It was an amazing series back in the day, and was extremely self-aware in a way people who have no knowledge of it but just look at the name and trailers wouldn't have any idea of.

I'm not confident this movie will approach the greatness of the original series, and I can't say that trailer did too much for me (reminded me more of the great moments of the series than making me anticipate the film), but I did back the movie and I am looking forward to it.

I've never heard of this before and I expected pure cringe in that trailer.

But honestly, it wasn't bad. Feels like fans could get some enjoyment out of this.

This is pretty much me, I'll be watching whenever it hits, brings back alot of good memories. I love how they look the same as they always did.

Wow, I had no idea they were still around, never mind making a movie. What a blast from the past, though it doesn't seem like these guys have aged a day.

Think I might go binge a season or two, just for old time's sake.

O the memories. Granted I only really remember watching the FPS Doug video and the WoW one. With that said will totally watch and I should check out the old web series now.

Yes, you should. I bet it still holds up today, just as long as you keep in mind the context of the gaming landscape at the time. Shouldn't be too hard, since it reminds the viewer of that constantly.

watching old clips on youtube and it really doesn't hold up today tbh

It might be a nostalgia thing, too. I can also envision it being difficult to get into if one's getting into it for the first time today, though I do think the context of it being a mockumentary and going into it with that in mind makes it more approachable.
