Question about Internet Connection Sharing in XP and security

I have a LAN of 4 PCs running Windows XP, with one computer connected to a DSL modem and sharing the connection with the others using the built-in ICS in XP.

My question: Do all PCs need to be fully secured (Service Pack 2 and Windows Update security patches installed + firewall) or is it enough if only the PC with the direct connection to the internet is secured?

All PCs need Service Pack 2 and the security updates. If your modem uses NAT(mine does) then there is no need for the firewall on each computer because they will be basically there to protect from each other. If it doesn't use NAT then you should put a firewall on the PC with ICS.
