Sorry if there's already an existing thread about this...

Anyway, I'm interested in ordering a single DVD from Amazon.com. According to this page, they will indeed ship DVDs outside the country.

Am I reading this right? Last time I checked, DVDs couldn't be shipped outside Japan, so what brought about the change? High demand? It says that some DVDs produced in Japan won't be shipped outside, but luckily mine is an American movie localized for Japanese audiences. I also would like to know how long it would generally take for the DVD to arrive, if the transaction is easy, and so forth. Thanks for any help.

They'll do DVDs, CDs and books (maybe more items, but NOT video game software/ hardware/ etc), and their shipping is very fast.

I ordered From Amazon japan, live in Texas, had no problems whatsoever, delivered on time too. Theyll give you a tracking number and whatnot as well.

I think it's only video games that Amazon wouldn't ship outside of Japan

I ordered FMA Best from amazon.jp, and that was CD + DVD

The fast shipping choice is really fast, but fairly expensive (somewhere around 20$). I order my osts from amazon.jp and use the faster shipping option and usually I get it the day after they ship it from Japan (I live in California so that might mean something as well). I have no idea how long the longer shipping choice takes

I live in SF, too, so I assume the bulk of Japanese mail passes through the state somewhere.

Btw, if you ship stuff via Economy, stuff usually takes between 8-10 (real) days. I've gotten my stuff in SF once in 6. I've only used Express shipping once... I guess if you really have to have it in 3 days, you can use it.

Yep, DVDs are fine. If you put in something not valid such as a videogame, it will tell you during the checkout process.
