Im abit concerned that Ep3 will start again many years later and not explain few things I am confused on. Is there some source we suppose to be using that is not spoilerish but factual so we up to date? I swear that must be some old bible lucas made decade ago because alot you seemed to have spoilers many many years ahead of time.

Now for star wars questions related to movies so far:

Are we going to know more about Anakin's "father" or conception or is this it? That basicly he is jesus like with no mortal father and was conceived by those midi things(the force). He is some legendary one that will bring balance to force. Gotta question that prophecy though. Balance, talk about total evil domination until very end where he does his good deed for his son. So this actually makes star wars a typical Japanese anime story that in order for world to exist there has to be darkness(evil) with the light(goodness)?

Was Corda a twin sister, a clone, a robot, and we suppose to believe Queen found someone that looks exactly like her for bodyguard double?

Dooka, appartantly he blantly lies about 3rd side to this war and is really with Palpatine, given we see him with the body hunter he denies knowing moments later and has "emperors lighting" like powers.

Who blood blazes is this jedi that ordered all these clones ages ago, emperor I assuming with the goal that both sides have army to fight each other? Why then is jedi so willing to use them without questioning the motives?

Palpatine guy. Now this one has to be answered in Ep3 right? I cant tell you how many friends watched these flicks still dont know who he really is, he just looks to normal minus few private moments for some to connect him as Emperor I guess. Even I didnt grasp that in first viewing of Menace. What exactly is he? Why this old fart so easily able to blind a whole jedi council to his plans/presence, let alone just master yoda? They come in two? Master and apprentice? They self multiple or something? P

If these are Definite Ep 3 questions just say so and let them be since dont like spoilers but I get feeling there some inbetween book or something I suppose to be reading to understand all this coming into last star wars flick.

Nope.

The doubles are always someone who looks like the queen.

madara said:

Duh. But there isn't any "third side". There's really only one side. The entire war is started by Sidious by the blockade of Naboo in Episode I. Sidious was in league with the Trade Federation, who in turn really controled the bureaucrats that decided who was in charge of the Republic. So Sidious, in the guise of Palpatine, used the Queen to spark a new election where Palpatine, as Sidious controlling the Trade Federation, could place himself in power to eventually become Emperor.

See the question above. Palpatine is really Darth Sidious.

J answered the questions nicely.

And WTF @ SW being a 'typical japanese anime story'? The concept of evil and good having to exist is a universal one used in many religions.

Palpy used the Dark Side to hide his Sidious face

They don't self multiply either, it's called finding someone who's strong in the Force and teaching him the Dark Side.

I'd like to know how having 1 Jedi and 0 Sith = Balance, but have given up hope on any answer.

wouldn't that require constant use of the force in others presence, something other Jedi would notice? Maybe that's what is clouding the force, or something to that effect, as Yoda puts it?

Nope not from what I've heard.

Yeap that's exactly what you are supposed to believe. Lucas found Kira Knightly who looks really close to the chick who played Padme

He was lying so he could turn Obiwan to his side which is the same side as Sidious. He gave him the truth but didn't put it in the proper context. Sort of like how Obiwan told Luke the truth about his father.

The alien that Obiwan was talking to had an accent so when he told Obiwan that Jedi Master Sifodious(sp) what he really was saying was Jedi Master Sidious. Sidious pretended to be a jedi and ordered the clones.

Sidious uses a holocron to alter his apearence. He can blind the Jedi because he is a very powerful Sith and the Jedi have grown lazy and cocky.

I seem to recall that there was a Jedi by the name of Sifudious (whatever) and that Obi-Wan knew who he was. I can see the second part of what you're saying though, as Sidious could have killed Sifudious and pretended to be him.

Yeah or that too. I now recall that Obiwan said Sifodious was killed some time go. So maybe Sidious claimed to be him and ordered the clones, that makes more since than my first answer.

Oh, I forgot to add this about why Palpy's face is screwed

Yoda uses some type of force power on him during the fight which really screws up his appearance

And it's Sifo-Dyas people!

Something I never got was that in episode 2, the jedi order never seemed to question the validity of the clone army. It's like they just without question decided they could use this army that just seemed to appear at a very convinient time without any real explaination on why it was ordered, and by who.

Did Yoda and Mace know about the army this whole time?

Well, the 'Republic' had ordered the army, I guess they just figured if it was created for the Republic, it'd be alright.

BTW people, heres the TFN.net entry:
Sifo-Dyas
It was believed that this being - a Jedi Knight of small renown - placed the first order for the cloned soldiers developed by the Kaminoans for the Army of the Republic. The order was placed around the time of the Battle of Naboo, directly to Lama Su himself, despite the fact that Master Sifo-Dyas was supposedly dead at that time. The Kaminoans believed that Master Sifo-Dyas hand-picked Jango Fett to serve as the genetic basis for the clone army, admiring his bounty hunting skills, discpline, and incredible attention to details.

Because it's not about the number of Jedi and Sith, but about the actual balance of the Force. The Force does not equal its skilled users. As Yoda says, the Force is found in everything, so it's more of a balance between everything in the universe, basically.

In that case, here's this from the SW forums, and it seems to make sense.

Senator McCurdy said:
It's a well known fact that this is Darth sidious, who is Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. He carries many aliases so as to confuse and manipulate. He ordered the clone army 10 yrs before epii, because he realised that there was not sufficient protection against the likes of the trade federation. Also if you haven't realised Count Dooku is Darth Tyrannus who is Darth Sidious' Sith apprentice. They are in alliance so as to bring the galaxy in to disruption, so then Palpatine can use his emergency powers given to him by Represenatatvie Binks, to create a dictatorship, e.g The Empire.

Since Sifo-Dayas was supposedly dead, could Count Dooko have been impersonating him? I played through the game Bounty Hunter and at the end Count Dooko turned out to be the Sifo-Dayas guy.

It doesn't really matter who actually did the impersonating. It wasn't the real Sifo-Dyas and that's about all that counts and all that Lucas cares about. I recall it being confirmed by someone at Lucasfilm that the issue wouldn't be raised again in Episode III.

Either Palpatine/Sidious went himself to order the clones or Dooku went under Palpatine's orders. The name 'Sifo Dyas' is not important. He's an old Jedi master who died ten years ago. So Palpatine just figured, hey, I'll use his name. It's as simple as that, people just make the issue more complicated than it is.

Well the Republic didn't have an army when Obiwan discovered the droid factory. They really didn't have much time to "look a gift hourse I the mouth."

No, Sifo-Dyas IS Sidious. When a Jedi goes to the other side, he is almost always described as having died. Obi-Wan tells Luke the exact same thing about his father. I'm sure Obi-Wan was told that Sifo-Dyas died also, when in fact he had really gone over to the Dark side.

Palpatine/Sidious has plans to change the Republic in to what we eventually know as the Empire. To do that, he sets plans in motion for BOTH armies, the droids and the Clone Troopers. Through his two personalities, he is controlling both sides of the war. Whichever is victorious is the strongest, and he then uses them to place himself in a position as single ruler of the Empire.

Bullshit, that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. You're trying to tell me that Palpatine/Sidious ran around the galaxy as a Jedi for years and years while also posing as a politician from Naboo? That's just dumb as is your point about Jedi being spoken of as dying when turning to the dark side. I mean, c'mon, there are only two characters in the films that turn, and those are Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku, and only one of those is said to have died
and from what I know of Episode III, that is actually true
. That claim is completely wrong.

Fact is there was a real Jedi by that name and that we're not going to find out who exactly placed the order in the film. Period.

Doesn't balance imply equality? As in good/bad yin/yang.

Yes, so what? That doesn't mean it has to come from an equal number of Jedi and Sith. Numbers have nothing to do with the kind of balance being spoken of here. If the prophecy is real and is fulfilled, then it's pretty damned obvious that the balance refers to more than numbers and just the Jedi and Sith. It has to do with the broad landscape of the universe.

Does Obi Wan say when Sifo-Dyas was supposed to have died? The order was placed 10 years before Episode II, and yet it seems like Obi-Wan said he died "many years before" that or something like that. So he could have "died" 50-60 years ago and started his political career some years after that. Isn't he supposed to be very, very old? Granted with unrealistically long life by the Dark Side?

My questions:

How does R2D2 forget to fly?
How do C3PO and R2D2 forget each other?
How does Chewie forget all the characters he meets in Episode III?
How does Obi Wan forget Chewbacca?
How many more damn coincidences can happen in this story?

Oh, and the big one;
Why, in Gods name am I still showing up to these movies?

When did they forget each other?
How do you know who Chewie meets in Episode III?
What makes you think Obi-Wan is on Kashyyyk with the Wookiees in Episode III?

Probably more of an attachment/upgrade he loses, more than forgetting anything. Like a bounty hunter withoua jetpack? Not as though he flies using the Force.
How do C3PO and R2D2 forget each other?
When do they forget each other? In Episode IV they clearly know each other, and have been working together for some years.
How does Chewie forget all the characters he meets in Episode III?
Uh? Should this be in this thread, considering this a question that won't arise until Episode III and this thread is asking if some things might be answered in Episode III? I mean, there is basically an Episode III spoiler in the question, for crying out loud.
How does Obi Wan forget Chewbacca?
Same as above.

Oh, and please, why ask questions in this thread that imply you already have read the Episode III script? This clearly is not the place for that.

I don't have the movie on hand, but I recall him (or Yoda?) saying Sifo-Dyas died "before" the Battle of Naboo. There's no reason to believe this happened decades earlier. There is really absolutely no evidence to suggest that Sidious was actually Sifo-Dyas. I think the implication is pretty clear that someone was posing as him.

I don't think the previous films, or what's known about Episode III, indicate that the dark side makes people healthier or extends normal life... in fact, it's quite the opposite.

I'm not even sure why this matters as I know I read a Lucasfilm official state that the Sifo-Dyas issue would not be mentioned in Episode III. I can't find the quote but it was from one of the frequent chats Starwars.com was doing with an official who answered questions about Episode III while it was shooting.

No, all that is said is that he died "more than" ten years ago, which would put it just before the Battle of Naboo.

Very true

But in regards to long life...Yoda lived for 900 years, so it's safe to assume being that in tune with the force allows you to live longer

I think Anakin did a pretty good job of balancing the force.

2 sith (Vader, Palpatine)
2 jedi (Yoda, Obi-Wan)

All the rest are dead by A New Hope.

I didn't really understand a damn thing in Ep. 1 and 2 about Palpatine's manipulation (other than ordering the clones) until I read this thread. Thanks guys.

Which movie did Obi *discover* the droid factory again?

Dan

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
He didn't destroy a droid factory in either, but he infiltrated one on Geonosis in Episode II: Attack of the Clones. I think that's the only thing you could be referring to.

I thought that the balancing force deal had to do not with a balanced number of Sith and Jedi, but maintaining some kind of harmony or balance of nature and crap throughout the universe. The jedis are supposed to work alongside the force, while the sith manipulated and twist it to do whatever the hell it is they do (wear black and shoot lightening). Just having one sith around disrupts that natural balance.

Its the difference between fishing in a lake and catch enough fish to live a modest life off of, and over fishing the pond to the point where the lake becomes barren just because you can make a lot of profit/power off of it.
