It's called the latest XBMC CVS builds, since a few weeks ago.
I believe there are also patches for the MS Dashboard, though I've never tried them.

yeah, just gotta overwrite some executable file, very simple, just google xbox progressive scan fix or something.

I'd like to hear some impressions. I heard its still a bit flaky on some discs and menus. How is it on playback quality (thinking of setting my dash to 1080i for XBMC movie playback)

Will it be close to as good as my dedicated DVD player (looking for excuses to cut down on boxes)

There's also a patch for DVDX or DVD Region X or whatever it's called. The stand-alone DVD player

It's really perfect, but it certainly works quite well now. It uses some excellent scaling methods so 1080i playback is quite good. If I was not so lazy I'd do some comparison between XBMC and my prog scan dvd player but really, I'm just too lazy

I have a patch for the Dongle Free DVD player (DVDRegion X) if you want it.

XBMC (depending on your build) always has issues in my experience. It's not just in the latest version. Progressive DVD playback has been included in XBMC for well over a year, if not more.

Is there a way to enable progressive scan movie playback on an unmodded Xbox? I found this but don't know if it will work on my US Xbox. I have a Xbox-USB controller cable.
