On Apr. 23, Rachel Bryk, 2-year developer of Dolphin, passed away.

Rachel focused primarily on creating the tools that enabled Tool-Assisted Speedruns/Superplays, which is a sorely underrepresented focus of emulation tools.

I believe cause of death is currently not public.

Really unfortunate to see anyone die, but especially a developer of maybe the best emulator out there, and someone who was clearly passionate about TASes, which is a rare breed of person indeed. I'll definitely miss her.

EDIT:
Tragic as this is, please refrain from openly speculating about the circumstances behind her passing. Unless there are confirmed news reports or information released by the family, we're presuming that it is private information and none of our business.

A horrible loss for the gaming community.

I don't know who she is (I mean, obviously I do now), but 23 is a horrible age to go. What a tragedy.

RIP

lol, how many male Rachel's do you know?

rachel is not rachael, which might have had some people thinking its possibly foreign

rip, huge bummer to have it be that young

Holy crap, 23...

But she contributed to Dolphin which is probably more than I've contributed to society at this point in my life! So "the flame that burns Twice as bright burns half as long" and all that...

RIP

Damn, she is too young to die...

My condolences to her family and friends.

Its great to see that she is a fan of Pucca though.

This is terribly sad.

She did some amazing work and seemed to have much more left in her, really a shame.

My condolences to her family and friends. Rest in peace, Rachel.
