Rachel Bryk, of Dolphin Development Team, Passes Away

Rest in peace. 23 is way too young an age to pass away. Huge loss for the gaming community, but she'll leave a lasting imprint with her great work on Dolphin.

I knew her a bit closer, so the last few days have been pretty dark for me. She was a great person who severely underrated herself. I would like to ask gaf detectives to go easy on this one, you dont know the full picture and its not as easy as "could have been prevented".

RIP
Tragic as this is, please refrain from openly speculating about the circumstances behind her passing. Unless there are confirmed news reports or information released by the family, we're presuming that it is private information and none of our business.

A horrible loss for the gaming community.

People's need to pry into the suffering of a grieving family always disgusted me. Not everything needs the diligent work of worthless fucking internet detectives, most of all a recent passing.

I imagine this is part of the reason why obituaries are posted publicly in newspapers and such. Allows people to verify that a death happened without needing to bother a grieving family.

Been looking at obituaries a bit too often these days. :/

It's a way of coping. Understanding why someone died helps you deal. I've been there. Took years to really understand what happened. But I was family, so I think it was acceptable in that case. Sometimes even fans experience the coping response, though. It's perfectly natural, and we just need to be reminded it's not a cool thing to do.

Shit, a lot of mystery deaths in the gaming community the past six months. RIP.

I mean, shit, wasn't she responsible for most of the advancements with Dolphin that got it to finally having playable performance on mid/low range PCs?

what in the world leads you to harass people? Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with some people?

RIP Rachel. Younger than me, too. A tragedy all around :(

R.I.P.

A hero to many, or at least in a way to me.

Seriously, emulator devs are a great job at gaming preservation.

That sucks :(. The Dolphin people have made huge improvements in later years. Condolences to friends and family

RIP

Often times the most troubled among us are also have the most brilliant minds. It's sad to see the treatment she endured and both the physical and mental pain she suffered with.

Both her character and her work will be missed.

Holy crap, 23...

But she contributed to Dolphin which is probably more than I've contributed to society at this point in my life! So "the flame that burns Twice as bright burns half as long" and all that...

RIP

damn, so right.
RIP

PS: wasnt she the new girl on the team that made massive improvements on the emulator? or that was the other girl?
