Me and one of my friend wanted to play RSC2 via system link. The thing is, that we must connect our XBoxes via a router. I have a LinkSys ( already imcompatible with XBox Live ). I several times created a game and on the other XBox it always failed to detect a single game. It detects that there is a connection, but not a game.

Please help !!!

if youre just hooking up two boxes why not direct connect them? youll need a crossover cable for that I think. or the official Xbox system link cable.

Yes. A crossover cable straight from one xbox to another will do.

Funny, I used two different Linksys routers with my Xboxes and never had a problem on Live nor System Link.

If all else fails, use a crossover.

The problem was due to the fact that we did not have the same version of the game. My friend had to download the new patch. Guess what, it worked fine after.
