While Driving home from work yesterday, i noticed a large Bird in the road eating (pecking) something in the road. At first i though it was a goose (they are all over around here).. but as we got closer it became apparent that it was no goose.. but was instead a really large Vulture pecking at a road kill carcass... I didn't even know we had Vultures in my area.... very fascinating.
 
Ugh, I think I caught something at the mall today. Might take a sick day tomorrow depending on how I feel in the morning.

Edit: It's the next day and fortunately I feel fine today.

Felt nostalgic and went to visit and old forum to check out the shit I posted when I was like 16 years old.

What a trip down memory-lane, even had a few laughs. I wonder what I'll think in 20 years about the stuff I'm posting today here at GAF, will be cool to check it out for sure.

I feel you. I spent 3/4 of my life on gaf/neogaf.
 
There's a small parking area in front of my apartment for local residents.

Literally every day, I see people pull in, sit in their car for 15 to 30 minutes, then finally get out. Most of the time, they're just sitting there with their phone in hand.

And of course, te engine is always running

What the hell are these people doing? It's constant

Pope Francis was elected Pope the same year GTA5 came out, and died the same year GTA6 is supposed to come out. Coincidence? I think we now live in a world where Popes follow the release schedule of GTA games. Also, "can't believe we got an American Pope before GTA6."
 
I have this friend since high school, I've known her for almost 11 years now. We've been joking around recently and she calls me her husband because she said if we weren't married in 10 years that we would marry each other.
She also called me right at midnight on my birthday.

Are these signs that she wants to move to more than just friends or is she just kidding?
Honestly, she's pretty and all, but she's like one of my best friends, almost like my sister, so it would be almost like incest if I made a move. Lol

I feel like such a beta right now. :(

I think I'm having mid life crisis. Up until a few weeks ago I loved my job, my hobbies, spending time with my family and people. Now I just want to be all alone in my bed all the time, I'm just wasting time. 40s sucks.

Me and my roomie did team effort and made some fried clams with jambalaya tonight.

Wow, did that or return out awesome. Best meal I had in a while.
 
I hate cockroaches so fucking much it's unreal. Just killed one with poison but the little fucker just did this cockroach-no-jutsu thing and now I can't find the corpse anywhere. Bet she'll kill me while I sleep tonight. :lollipop_pensive:
 
I have so much shit I need to get sold off. The pc stuff should be pretty easy but the figurines are gonna be the hard ones, but I wanna get most of this stuff sold immediately.
 
I keep thinking I'll sell off some of the video games I collected over the years and never had time to play, to save space and get my money back. I mean, a lot of them are online now. But there's something about owning the physical copy that prevents me from doing this.

Conversely, I look at my GOG and Steam 'collection' and think, I bet that these sites will go obsolete before I ever touch any of the games I bought from them, and I will end up owning nothing and just wasted the money I spent on them. Luckily it wasn't too much money since I bought them all on drastic sales (or they were old and cheap), but still.
 
I was on my way to work earlier, taking the scenic route as usual, when I was stopped by a police officer and told I couldn't come this way. Why not, I asked. He pointed to a helicopter and said "because of him." Him? Who does he think he is? The King of England?! Anyway, it was the King of England. I'll let him off this once. Better not do it again, though.

32 and broke out the old timey safety razor and the sandalwood proraso for the first time in 4mths to take it all off a few days ago (I do make an occasion of it, lol), looked in the mirror after and couldn't help but think "who's that pasty, effeminate, chinless, child?" My brain can't quite compute me without a beard.

Was getting ID'd when I shaved up until about 30 (if my Dad was with me he'd always ask if they can ask him for his ID...).

I look exactly the same but I think it just gets to the point where they realise the light is going out in your eyes. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

There's nothing more depressing than watching an ice cream truck drive around your neighborhood, and no one goes outside to buy anything. That music hides so much pain and loneliness.

 
Anyone else seeing more ads than normal lately?

Often I'll load Neogaf and I'll see all these thick ads going down the page, but then usually I can reload the page and they're gone.
These are on top of the ad banner that pops up at bottom of the site that you have to minimize every time GAF loads.
I know running the site isn't free but it does seem like a bit much lately... If the ads were black/dark then it wouldn't bother me as much but as a dark mode user it's worse.

I feel like the ads on Twitch have gotten worse lately too. I'll be watching a stream and then a video starts playing side by side with the stream which is really distracting and if you switch to another tab then it pauses the ad video until you come back.
I do miss when the internet wasn't stuffed to the brim with ads but I know everything is getting expensive these days, including costs to run a website.
