Random thoughts.

Whatever happened to Plies Plies ? He came in like a wrecking ball, wracked up reactions like Tom Brady won rings, and I haven't seen him around in a while.

Also, Disciple of MSSP Disciple of MSSP , has that always been your name on here? I'm a MSSP fan, so I feel like I would've noticed your name before but I hadn't.

I fear he may have stolen his last lunch.
Sad Jim Carrey GIF

Nah I used to have a different UN. I just changed it to this about a month ago. I wish it would do "formerly (name)" for a month or so. But yeah you must be a good man lol. Listening to the new pod right now and playing BF6

Shane was on Joe Rogan's podcast released on Christmas Day; just in case you hadn't seen it.

Yep I listened to it earlier today. Not much makes me listen to rogan anymore, but he's in his best form with gillis and protect our parks.

This was a fun set of Christmas clips too

Also I looked at my YouTube recap and was in their top 2% of listeners 😂 274 vids. They make me laugh my ass off

Do female streamers not enjoy videogames? When I watch them play through a game, it feels as if they are hoofing down a hamburger and it comes off as unauthentic.

Something tells me that playing videogames for fun hits a different when you are doing it as a job.
Because not everyone can concilie fun with work. I work with IT, and I even have a nice PC, but play more with my consoles because I have too much time working on a PC

Did you guys party on new years eve? I slept basically through it. Only wake up because of fireworks here. Wasn't in the mood for socializing

Been learning Flask/Python for a bit and I think I'm at the point where I want to try and make a proper website, maybe something related to Resident Evil or maybe something like future horror movies.

I believe, with a high degree of confidence, that I have never utilized the word "markedly" in any capacity.
Until just now.
But still never in its intended form.

I'm so tired y'all. Everything just continues to get more expensive, our country is run by gangsters and pedophiles, it's dark by the time I get off work, not enough houses to around, UGH. Not to mention the AI bubble and RAM prices and videocards going up and everything too. And the stuff about our government wanting to take over other countries and ICE attacking citizens and stuff. It's a lot.

edit: Thanks for the gold!

In our attention economy of dopamine-hijacking devices, one of the most countercultural things you can do is read books, ideally in print.
i don't really enjoy reading physical books. maybe if i'm sitting at a desk with good lighting but otherwise i prefer my Kindle.

i've noticed my attention span deteriorating but have worked on it by reading more books. usually it takes me a long time read books but i finished two recently in the space of 2-6 days (640 pages in 2 days and 1200 pages in 6 days) which makes me so proud.

that said, the book i am reading now i haven't touched in a while. need to try get back into it.

same for movies. i wouldn't watch a movie if it was any longer than an hour and a half but find myself watching more longer movies.

Congrats! It's counterintuitive, but I find that longer books are better for reclaiming attention. The deeper one delves into the intricacies of narrative or argument, the more one is compelled to keep reading. Also, there's real satisfaction in taking stock of one's progress, watching as the slab of pages moves from one's right to his left hand.

I have a Kindle, too, but there's just something about the physicality of a book that I find more engaging. Print books help me create a mental map of locations and incidents in the text, making it easier to seek out and re-read choice passages (though of course one can search an e-book by keywords and phrases).

i do miss the feel of the pages moving like you say. starting a book and feeling the chunk of pages you still have to read. or finishing a book you don't want to finish but you run out of pages.

i'm not really a reader who goes back to read things again but that's just me.

the main thing for me is the weight of the book and lighting. mostly i read in bed and don't have good lighting.
