Ratchet & Clank Collection Hits August 28th With Sly Cooper Demo

Fuzzy

I would bang a hot farmer!
As the celebration of Ratchet & Clank’s 10th Anniversary has unfolded this year, we’ve received your anxious e-mails, tweets and Facebook messages asking us when you can get your hands on the Ratchet & Clank Collection in North America. Today, we can tell you the remaster of three original PS2 Ratchet & Clank games will be available at retailers and via PlayStation Network on August 28th for $29.99!

The Collection features 1080p HD remasters of three PS2 Ratchet & Clank classics: Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. In addition, these three games have Trophy and 3D support (in 720p), and the fine folks over at Idol Minds have restored online play to Up Your Arsenal. At last, those who missed out on competitive R&C gameplay during the PS2 Network Adapter era can finally check it out!

We realize that the Ratchet & Clank Collection is arriving in North America a bit later than it did in Europe and Japan. To reward you for your patience, we’re giving you exclusive first access to the Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo when you purchase the Collection. If you love Ratchet, you probably love Sly, and the Ratchet & Clank Collection will let you test drive Sly’s new time-traveling adventure starting on August 28th. As an added bonus, you’ll receive a special Ratchet & Clank 10th anniversary avatar!

We can’t wait to for you to get your hands on these three remastered Ratchet & Clank games, the Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time demo and the 10th anniversary avatar on August 28th. In the meantime, keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook pages for the latest on the Collection, as well as the newly announced Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault!

Nice. Will definitely get.

That reminds me, Up Your Arsenal came with a Sly 2 demo way back when, wonder if its still in there haha.

Ha, will the Sly demo give out the
alternate wrench code
for Ratchet & Clank 3 ... again? :P

Glad I bought it already. Sly demo isn't really worth the wait (hopefully it will get released on PSN after a bit of time)

Perfect. Great way to help me forget that I'm........ finally getting into my Major and will soon have very little free time. *sigh*

SLy 4 Demo is icing on the fucking cake! Hope there's a release date announced before then.

is that actually what the blog post says? i can't read it at work. that's pretty lame.

All HD collections should be $29.99 from the start.

I don't know. I wouldn't really be gunning for the ICO collection (no offense Ico fans) unless it was $19.99, but then again, unless it's some kind of god's game I would think the sweet spot would be $19.99.

YES! $30 is a fantastic price! I can't wait to finally play these! And a Sly 4 demo.... mmmmm

Sucks that it's a day after I start school though :/

wat?

1080p? Mine showed 720p. And I had the 3D slider completely at the left side and no 3D shown on my display. Anyone don't tell me, that you had to switch 3D support permanently in the PS3 system menu to get 1080p.

Yes.

Yes it says that.

Is what it says.

I edited the OP with the entire blog post.

Unfortunately, yes. Don't get me wrong; I love Sly Cooper. But I don't need/want a demo to know that I'm going to buy it.

wow. that's seriously lame. why would that even be a big deal for fans? i already have sly preordered. insomniac hyped the north american release when all it has is a demo?

What about Deadlocked?

I give zero shits about another crappy Sly Cooper game. I probably won't even bother playing the demo.

so America is getting it two months later because of the Sly 4 demo?

well that just dumb, I mean the demo is nice but I'd rather have gotten the collection last month with no demo

In other words, they were totally bullshitting about "having something extra special for North Americans" to compensate for the late release. They're just throwing in early access to the already planned Sly 4 demo.

What will suck even more is if the demo is just a voucher to download it off of PSN a week early. :lol

Are they going to fix that bolt trophy for North America that everyone is complaining about?

I literally just got the trophy on my 4th playthrough, penultimate level. No glitching or exploits. It's not as terrible as it initally appeared as a lot of the bolt total was reached getting all the weapons and upgrades. Still very grindy though, should have been 500k.

The R&C2 trophies aren't grindy at all by comparison, although there's one for 2 million bolts, the game throws them at you and then there's Challenge mode where they through them at you even more. I hit those without even trying.

R&C3's bolt trophy asks for 10 million. I'm not far enough into that one to tell if that's going to be a pain to get or if like 2 you'll rack up the bolts without even trying. I will say there does seem to be a lot of trophies taken from the skill points that look quite grindy but I won't be able to say for sure until I've tried challenge mode for myself.

As someone who only got into Ratchet and Clank this generation, this is actually one of my most anticipated games of the year.

I cannot wait to see what I've missed.
