I was just doin a little searching for the other GC tech demos, and I came across the Raven Blade page. I had heard about the game, but never seen any videos until today. For those of you that don't know, Raven Blade was an RPG that was being designed by Retro Studios. It looked pretty cool, and definitely one of the types of epic games Nintendo needed to make more this gen when doing new franchises. I'm hoping it gets resurrected for the Rev after Retro finishes MP3.

MP was always supposed to be a trilogy, so after MP3 I pray Nintendo allows Retro to do whatever they want; they've proven themselves. I'm hoping for a FPS. Although MP3 with the Revcontroller will be great, Metroid just isn't made for run and gun gameplay. I want to see a multiplayer themed FPS similar to UT in a sense, with a great singleplayer mode too.

What "original" games did Nintendo do this gen that would count as Zelda level epics? I can't think of any. They should make a harder attempt at making new adventure/RPG games for the Rev.

I think Nintendo always said that Gamecube was a "evolution" rather than a "revolution". It goes like this

NES - revolution
SNES - evolution
N64 - revolution
GC - evolution

So, guess what's next?

Raven Blade and that Thunder Rally game looked really lame, IMHO. I'm glad they canned them.

Metroid Prime 1 and 2 are my favorite games of this gen. It totally reinvented the series in a necessary way. Retro *IS* Metroid now, as much as EAD is Mario. Just deal with it.

I distinctly remember them saying MP3 would be the last in the "Phazon" series, but they never said it would be their last Prime-style game. I would like to see them try something new after MP3 though.

The concept demo of Raven Blade looked the nuts, especially the lava boss and the number of enemies. However, the actual gameplay, for a game 2 years in development, stunk like a raw fish taped to a bad pussy.

Does that make a second anus implied? Nintendo really has to make MP3 shine even though there is the Ubi shooter cause they've been throwing FPS out there but it takes more than the FPS or should I say FPA they've had so far.

Yeah I have that same orange video tape from CUBE or NGC or something... :-/ I remember getting so hyped by that video and getting kinda dissapointed when I saw Raven Blade was cancelled..... Then I did some research and out how much it apparently sucked and I was happy again.. ^^;
