How is it that Ray is already out on dvd? I mean, didn't it just come out like a month and half ago? And is still playing in some theaters? Geez? If this keeps up, there'll be absolutely NO reason to go to the movies anymore....which is fine by me

Does this hold the record for the fastest movie to dvd release ever?

Ray came out in theatres october 29 2004. It is a pretty fast DVD release considering it did do pretty well in theatres grossing over 73 million. I'm not complaining considering I get to buy it earlier. I wish all DVD's came out as quickly as Ray.

my guess would be that it has something to do with the oscar push for jamie fox.

I don't know if it includes other factors like ticket sales since I don't follow those BO sales threads.

EDIT: oh if it did well at the theater then I would give a 100% guess that the early realease is soley based on oscar bidding

Great movie, I think Jaime Foxx deserves the oscar for this one. Some phenominal acting there.
