Good thing he's not gay or he'd have a hard time finding work

Well, Ray Lewis committed outright murder and he's a celebrated treasure of the NFL. I think that Ray Rice will be just fine. Wait no, he kinda sucks, so he's doomed.

If she spit on dude, I don't feel sorry for her.
Some people will kill you for that shit.

Cmon son, I been spit on by more than one woman. Just laugh it off. It makes them even more mad. Don't ever hit a woman unless you are just trying to subdue her cuz she's trying to legit kill you with a knife or something.

In my mind, the only time it is acceptable to hit a woman(or anyone for that matter), is when you're both of sound mind and she starts swinging or hits you first. And even after that there's no reason to use UNCONSCIOUS FORCE PUNCH!

Rice looks like an asshole regardless of what further details comes out of this story.

And to y'all digging up that old Ray Lewis well, you need to let that go. He was found innocent on all charges boys.

I can picture Ray Lewis' comments on the matter

I just don't think Ray would do something like this. I mean to do what they say he done done is just unthinkable. I know his heart. I know this man Boom. We've played together. Prayed together and like I told him during our super bowl run. No weapons formed against us shall prosper. He ain't did it and nobody out there can tell me he did it. I knows this man on a different level.

Spitting is worse than hitting, but god damn what do you have in you to use that much force? People will say this is a football mentality. Bull, dude got anger issues.

If any argument is getting that bad, to the point where she gonna attack you, you need to step away.

100% Rice at fault for not having that automatic MAN thing that goes on before you think about striking a woman.

The hell? Overwhelming majority have come out in support of Sams, with a tiny handful of people saying it "could be a distraction."
Majority of people != majority of people in the NFL.

They haven't stopped asking "questionable" guys during draft day about their girlfriends/wives/dating habits.

Came for the gays..quite satisfied.

I assume this is based on the Micheal Sam coming out story and the comments some players made about gay players in the NFL?

I don't see whats so shocking. Unfortunate yes but gay being accepted is not some unique problem to the NFL or sports. The NFL itself has nothing against it and probably welcome him by making sure they go out of their way to help him clear some hurdles. But yes when society at large is still killing gay people, not allowing them to get married, and overall discriminating against them, why is it so shocking that some players might not be accepting?

And keep in mind it was some players. Some guys came out in full support. Of course if people just want to continue with some anti-sports or anti-NFL agenda than that's different.

As for Rice...fucking moron. Really sad as I was a fan of his. I hope she doesn't still marry him if this is something he does.

Another NFL offseason, another disturbing story. Rice could face serious time over this. Recently a college basketball prospect got 7 years for beating his girlfriend.

As someone who played football, most football players are violent by nature. During the offseason a lot of these guys get in trouble because they lack disciplined structure the football season offers. Same thing with a lot of Marines when they are in/get out of the military.

Rice seemed like a nice guy as well, and even if she spit on him, he should`ve just walked away. RBs can be founds a dime a dozen nowadays so it wouldn't surprise me if Ozzie Newsome and the Ravens management cut him.

To me, violent by nature is not stealing a woman in the face hard enough to knock her out. That's something else on self control and anger suppression.

Actually I'm not sure most football players are violent by nature. What if we start breaking that down, by position. FG kickers, lets start there, lets move to D-Backs, Wides... Naturally violent human beings? I'm not sure I'd pin that on the military either.

You can't tell anything from the video. If he did KO her why didn't the police arrest him?

I could go either way on this story.

This is fucking terrible. If this was legitimate violence and not her passed out drunk(which is doesn't look like) lock his ass up and suspend him.

We don't have all the evidence and there is no video of him actually hitting her. Where is the "benefit of the doubt" defense force that usually comes out?

Oh wait I see.....nevermind.

It's a shame. I was a TA in a class Rice was in while at Rutgers. He always was a stand up guy, and prior to this did GREAT things for charities and trying to help out the disadvantaged youth back in his hometown of New Rochelle.

On the news last night when they were talking about this story it was stated he confessed to hitting her with the weak ass defense of she hit me too

As bad as Ray Rice was on the field last season, I'm not sure the Ravens are feeling great about entering the 2014 season with Bernard Pierce as their bellcow running back with his 2.9 yard per carry average last year.
