Gaming side must be so confused with me changing avatars nearly every day.

Luckily, gaming is a cesspool right now, so I'm not posting much there!

You seem slightly less reasonable without the avatar.

Also, it has been really boring as of late. But so has most of off topic to me. Guess I'll play more Skyrim or go to bed or something. It is 12:34 AM here.

Aren't you from Germany? If so... what do you think about Reibekuchen with applesauce?

I had them at the Weihnacht market... I loved them!

I'm not from Germany, but my boyfriend is! So I go there a lot. I haven't had that yet though. I'll have to ask him about it and try it. Germans seem to love applesauce. I've had it with quite a few things there.

I sometimes look at gaming, but honestly there aren't many topics I'm interested in. There aren't too many games I'm anticipating at the moment (with the exception of Journey and Torchlight 2, what is the hold up with those games anyway?) and I'm not planning on jumping on the new handheld bandwagon for awhile, so there isn't anything for me.

It's been in full-on console wars mode for about a month and a half now.

I like talking about games but I kind of already know what each thread is going to entail before I click it, so I'm just not clicking many threads.

RP Thread's my favorite one on the forum right now.

I've been avoiding most of GAF period, but specifically the gaming side because I have TOO MANY TO PLAY and I don't want to get the urge to buy more. Not to mention I'm planning on recording an acoustic thing soon.

It's kind of sad that I've seen more interesting gaming discussion in here than I've seen in gaming for awhile. :/ I guess because here we're a smaller group and in gaming anyone could pop in and disrupt the conversation just to get replies. Most people aren't even reading this thread.

Why do people post on the gaming side anyway?

When things are going well, there is good discussion to be had.

When it's console wars time, everyone is just being a huge bitch. You can't say anything negative about a game if it's a system exclusive (Uncharted-GAF can be fucking embarrassing at times), people are stealth-trolling consoles that are not released, anyone will defend anything if their company of choice does it, and they will complain endlessly if it's not their company of choice.

Unfortunately, we have consoles coming out at least this year through possibly 2014 so god knows when this bullshit is going to end.

My dreams: shattered.

Not even brolove?

Not even a tiny bit?
No love, but there is plenty of lust.
Bloodlust.
MarvelGAF is too hardcore for me

I'm okay at the game but they're all "FRAMEDATA HAS BEEN CHANGED SLIGHTLY CHARACTER RUINED FOREVER"
I haven't seen tears for frame data since the strat guide was released. Now it's basically theoryfighter, constantly shifting Top 5 lists that don't mean a damn thing, and Degen talking about getting revenge on me for beating him in a First to 10.

Always wanted to try skydiving but I'm always stuck in the manning up part of the process. Anyone ever go? What was the experience like?

I also need to scuba-dive at some point. It's lame because I've been in some great places for diving (Koh Tao in Thailand, and the Sinai peninsula in Egypt), but I never went.

I'm such a pansy, I don't think I could do anything dangerous. The most dangerous thing I would consider would be mountain climbing (and not steep mountains either.)

Or I could just play Skyrim and completely fail at climbing mountains there.

They should have had a Mountain Climbing skill. I'd be 100 by now. Why go around a mountain when you can just go over it?

I'm still kinda salty about the fact that it costs at least $30k to summit Everest. $10k just for the permit you get from the Nepali government.

The most dangerous (or scary) thing I did was crawling through caves. Shit was pretty claustrophobic. Sometimes you were on your back, the ceiling about 10 cm above your face :/

Actually, given that I've fallen down a flight of stairs (the same one mind you) three times in the past year I probably should stay right here.

That movie made me so tense. It probably wouldn't been as scary if I wasn't a bit claustrophobic.

I'd love to go skydiving. I remember as a kid I would pretend my backpack was my parachute and jump off our couch and pull on the strap to simulate opening my chute.

Skydiving was also my favorite in Pilotwings.

How come there hasn't been a game focused on skydiving? Make it sorta like a flight simulator where you can choose from a spot from around the world and just enjoy the scenery before you have to pull your chute.

It's really narrow and steep with no tread, and I'm often walking down them carrying things*. It isn't a good mix, especially if you're clumsy. I put some tape on it to keep myself from slipping, but it still makes me uneasy. My bedroom is up here though so I can't just avoid going down these stairs.

*also, in socks.

Weirder things have happened. Every member of my mom's side of the family has fallen down the same flight of stairs in my grandmother's house, including me. It's become a running joke that you're not really a part of the family until it's happened to you.
Hasn't your family ever considered the more likely scenario? HAUNTED STAIRCASE!

Ah, well, that's less crazy than I thought

For some reason I thought you fell three times in succession

...

it's late (early)!

I think my aunts and uncles tried to scare my mom when they were kids by saying that there was a ghost living in the top floor of the house. Although I think the likeliest reason is that we're all very very clumsy. :x

And with that, I am off to bed.

I'd love to skydive one day. I am generally scared of heights in concept but I don't find them that scary when I'm up there (walking on ropes in Mario Sunshine scared me more than flying with my legs loose).

I was more terrified of the sea but that made sense. I technically live in a desert without any seas nearby and I kinda drowned in a swimming pool as a kid :P
I kinda got over it though.

Or maybe the ghost is clumsy and keeps bumping into you guys. There's a thought to take to bed! G'night.

Where do you live?

When I was younger I had to jump from a rooftop to another, and they weren't skyscrapers but definitely high enough to break bones or splat on fall.

Long story short, I jumped and almost missed it, hung on the edge with my knees and shoes scraping the side to push me up, it was piss-your-pants fear right there. I used all my upper body strength and got up.

Oh, and good morning GAF! :lol

Doing barrel rolls while paragliding was pretty cool.

It's a trip to realize that the thing that's keeping you aloft is beneath you. And you look up, and up is now down.
